This is one of the traits I love most about Lucy’s lines, they’re so sweet and patient with the boys. They have a high mental tolerance and a deeper knowing. Now, do I expect them to take whatever my toddler dishes out? Absolutely not! Do I leave them together unsupervised? Huge no! With these dogs I’m not concerned they might react, but it’s more for the protection of the dogs, as toddlers can be rough on anything and in exploring cause harm. I value that patience in our dogs, and I absolutely want to protect that! So that means I watch and monitor my son, show him how we interact with dogs, and make sure he doesn’t do things that make the dogs dread seeing my kid. The patience they have is valuable in teach my kids how to treat animals with respect, and gives grace while I’m teaching that. But it ABSOLUTELY is NOT something to be taken for granted to just assume the dog will take these behaviors continuously and amplified, which would happen if I left him unattended with any animal. If you have a dog that is patient with your toddlers, know how valuable that is and protect that in the dog so they can continue to be patient and enjoy your little kids, and not become scared or tense around them in fear of what might be coming and expected of them to endure needlessly. Good bless high tolerance and patient dogs, and Bless the moms who are intentional with their kids to supervise and teach them how to interact with these amazing souls ♥️
