Heartworm disease is a silent threat, but can be preventable. A single heart worm bite can begin the Heartworm lifecycle, which develops silently before reaching the heart and lungs. This month, let’s get ahead of the cycle with a simple test and a consistent prevention plan.

Happy Veterinary Receptionist Week!! 🎉

Huge shoutout to Donicia & Chay—the real MVPs of the front desk (and honestly, the whole place). If you’ve ever called, stopped in, or had a minor life crisis over your pet… they’ve handled it. 🐶🐱

From answering phones that never stop ringing, to juggling schedules like pros, to translating what we meant to say… they do it all (and somehow keep smiling).

We’d be completely lost without you two—like, “where did the appointment book go and why is everything on fire” kind of lost 😅

Thanks for keeping us organized, keeping our clients sane, and keeping the chaos under control (most days). We appreciate you more than coffee… and that’s saying A LOT ☕️

🐾 Don’t forget—protecting your pets is more than just keeping them comfy, it’s keeping your whole family healthy!

Fleas, ticks, heartworms, and internal parasites aren’t just a nuisance—they can cause serious health issues for your pets and can affect people too. Some parasites can be passed to humans, especially children, and can easily make their way into your home.

The good news? Prevention is simple and way easier (and cheaper) than treatment.

✔️ Flea & tick prevention helps avoid skin irritation, infections, and disease transmission
✔️ Heartworm prevention protects against a potentially fatal condition spread by mosquitoes
✔️ Routine deworming helps protect against internal parasites like roundworms and hookworms
✔️ Helps reduce the risk of pests and parasites being brought into your home and around your kids
✔️ Year-round prevention = year-round peace of mind

Even indoor pets aren’t completely safe, so make prevention part of your routine!

If you’re not sure what your pet needs or when they’re due, call us at (785) 738-5545—we’re here to help keep pets happy and families safe 🐶🐱
