The Eddy Family Animals - and Friends The photos of our pets and outdoor visitors are intended to bring a little cheerfulness and/or levity to your day. All of our pets have come from shelters.

All of our indoor furry family members are from rescue facilities. Rather than posting a bunch of pet photos on my regular page that might not appeal to everyone, I thought I would consolidate them on their own page. Some were abandoned...one (Mina) was horribly abused before being found by Animal Control. They are a wonderful example of overcoming a difficult start, and what fantastic pets come from shelters. We like to think of them as Rescue Animal Ambassadors.

Baby bunnies brought to my office today from another part of the property. No mama to be found. Hawks were circling.

I needed to weigh them, so I used my mail scale.
117 grams/4.1 ounces.

They have been placed with a licensed rehabber, and will be released when they hit 150 grams.

I'm grateful I work someplace that doesn't mind me bringing in cats, 'possums, bunnies, or whatever. Because I've done that on more than a few occasions. Although in this case, they were already on the work property 🙂

This little one is from a litter of 5. Not sure who the mom is. It might be Verona.

He and his siblings are around 4.5 weeks old, but he is only 2/3 the size of his littermates. He also only has a stub for a tail (not sure if it is genetic or if he suffered an injury.)

He, however, is a little daredevil!! He tries to follow mom up onto our Dept. of Natural Resources-approved feeder, but is waaay too short to reach. Getting down, he just flings himself into space and lands on all fours.

We have at least four raccoon mamas this season. We may have as many as seven, but we have only "met" four litters so far.

I wasn't going to put out a pool this year, but we will have a series of 95 to 100 degree days this coming weekend/week, and some of the babies are still too young to go down to the creek. One litter is barely 4 weeks old, and still have the straight, triangular tail the babies have at first. So...yeah...I bought a new little wading pool today. I'll put it out when the days are 90 degrees or more.

I am weak.

That's Shelly in the photo. She has two babies. The glass on the table was cool, so she climbed up for a nap.
