This Tort Dutch Buck and Doe along with this Chestnut Mini Lop Doe just left to their new home in Winneconne, WI! The Dutch will be 4-H Show rabbits and potential breeders in the future for the older children and the Mini Lop is going to be a pet for the younger child! I can't wait to see how well they do for them! Located in Albany WI!

How much did you spend on your most expensive Holland? I'll go first...

$300, plus $90 for transport. And she never produced a single kit before I petted her out. She looked AMAZING at 6 months old, but by the time she was a year old, that potential we all thought was there never developed. Between her being just "good" and not great, and never producing, there was no reason to keep her in the herd. I fed her and housed her and loved her and cared for her for almost a year and she never produced a single kit. So how much did she cost me really?

I have a $200 doe who consistently produces 2-3 babies with good structure. She was unproven when I got her and I drove several hours to get her, rather than paying for transport and waiting another month.

My best herd buck was $200. He has helped my HEC, but will never be competitive on the table.

Now, maybe I'm a sucker and all these different breeders have taken advantage of me... or maybe Hollands are hard and good Hollands aren't cheap.

Godiva (Chocolate Otter Holland Lop) bred to Thunder (Self Blue Holland Lop) gave me 7 beautiful kits today! Unfortunately, when I got home and found them, the air conditioner in the shed, someone must've accidentally hit a button and was no longer on air conditioning and the fan was just running, so the shed in the front area got over 90° and all but 1 kit passed from the heat. 😭 So very unfortunate, so I placed this kit with our other Holland Lop, Blueberry to hope this one survives. We will give Godiva another breeding in the next month or so.

Blueberry (Blue Otter Holland Lop) bred to Thunder (Self Blue Holland Lop) blessed me with 6 kits today! I'm super excited for this litter! There are at least a couple otters in this litter, but unsure of colors right now. Looks like either Blues, Chocolate or Lilacs! Located in Albany WI! Note, none will be for sale as I have a list to go through. Thanks!
