📌PLEASE SHARE📌

Biscuit is searching for a new home and because she has a special place in our hearts, we are sharing her here. Biscuit is not at all a “problem child.” Her owner simply cannot keep her and the placement she’d originally lined up has fallen through.

Biscuit is 5 years old. She has a great temperament, is very loving and affectionate. She is up to date with vetting and has no medical issues. If you’re interesting in adding Biscuit to your home, please send a message to our page and we will put you in contact with her owner.

Wondering how this program is going? Compassionate Care Cat Clinic (CCCC) alone reports they have spayed 172 females and neutered 147 males.

PLEASE be patient with both CCCC and Barnesville Veterinary Services and understand there is a waiting list. They do have other animals to service besides the business we are sending their way. We are immensely thankful for their partnerships! ❤️

📍SYDNEY IS HOME! The amount of shares of this post was so encouraging. Thank you all! Details about her return are posted below. 📍

On the evening of July 3, 2024, Sydney clawed her way out of her fenced in yard, likely to chase a rabbit. She was last seen on the 4400 block of Highland Avenue in Shadyside, Ohio (Belmont County). She is also afraid of fireworks, so she may have gone into hiding somewhere. She is very loved and missed. If seen, please call her owner, Nan, at 740-359-7250.

Update from Sydney’s mom at 8:00am, Friday, July 5:
My beloved Sydney is still missing after getting through the fence and chasing after a rabbit in Shadyside. Absolutely no sightings. She is an indoor dog, not used to the summer heat. She is so loving, never leaves my side. She also loves her dog brother, Frank. Many many thanks & love to those who have been searching and posting over & over. Shadyside & the Ohio Valley have certainly rallied behind me. If you have her, just bring her home. No questions asked. Please. I’m heartbroken

Update from Sydney’s mom at 10:50pm, Monday, July 8:
Tonight I was tracked down at dinner with a very sincere call from a complete stranger telling me Sydney had been spotted. I flew home and several people legitimately had spotted her! First sighting ever. Many people called & texted about hearing she was seen. Several sightings finally tonight. I did not see her. Her collar is intact and her tags jingle as she runs. Pray she returns to me tomorrow. Shadyside & the entire Ohio Valley, you are amazing!!!Special thanks to Erica Kerns for that call ❤️ She is very close to home!!

Update from Sydney’s mom at 6:50am, Tuesday, July 9:
SYDNEY IS HOME!!!!!! A wonderful man named Hunter found her just now before going to work. Thank you Hunter. Thank you Shadyside!! Thank you Ohio Valley!! You all are amazing. You all turned out for us. She’s dirty & tired & full of burrs but she’s home. What a beautiful community we live in! Thank you all. He caught her down by the water treatment plant. I am beyond ecstatic ❤️

‼️UPDATE: FOUND - THANK YOU FOR ALL THE SHARES‼️
Rue is a petite female who snuck out of her house last night, Tuesday, June 5, 2024. She was last seen behind the Dollar General Store on Route 250 in Colerain, Ohio, Belmont County. She is an indoor cat who does not have a collar on. This is her first adventure outside, so she is likely scared and hungry. If you spot her, kindly contact her owner at 304-281-4238.

About Us

Founded in 1974, the Belmont County Animal Rescue League (BCARL) in Belmont, Ohio, is the oldest animal welfare agency in Belmont County. It was organized by three caring and compassionate citizens of the community who saw a need for structured animal welfare programs. BCARL founders John Pickenpaugh, Dr. Daniel McBride DVM, and Elaine Barnes believed that to have an impact on serious animal issues in Belmont County, they would need to develop innovative resources and services that would have a lasting effect and save lives.

BCARL’s programs and offerings have changed over the years, but one thing has remained true - we endeavor to decrease shelter populations, address neglect and cruelty, and see animals placed in loving homes where they can receive the care and comfort they deserve. Our main focus at this time is animal abuse and neglect. We employ humane agents, sworn in by the court, to investigate alleged cases of abuse and neglect in order to protect and assist animals in our county.

Our current programs focus on:

  • Humane Operations - rescue, recover, and re-home abused and neglected animals
