We're completely full of dogs (again…) Please delay surrendering dogs.

Yep - it's still a problem. We’ve been dealing with shelter overcrowding for the last few years and unfortunately there is no easy solution to the problem. This isn't a situation that shelters can adopt their way out of since the majority of the dogs housed are waiting through their stray period or are in protective custody.

Overcrowding is a national problem, not just something we're experiencing in the Bay Area. We're housing lots of dogs who are owned (and not available for adoption) and they're here, in our custody, for a variety of reasons (owner jailed, owner hospitalized, owner died, cruelty investigations, domestic violence protective custody, hoarding cases, etc.)

If you know anyone who’s missing their dog, please ask them to check out the Stray/Found kennels on our website. We'd love a reunion!
