ANNIE....
OH what a day. Today was Annie recheck appointment, also it was an appointment that would tell me whether or not I made the right decision on moving forward with Annie... going against vet recommendations and going with my gut. Going again all odds! And second guessing my decision alot ! Miss Annie was givin a 10 percent chance of making it well my gut was right! Annie has had DRASTIC IMPROVEMENTS. .. don't get me wrong i know her xeays are still ugly...I know they are not anywhere where they need to be but here the deal.. Laminetic horses rarely grow evenly , always grow more heal than toe. Making it nearly impossible for them to recover. but not my Annie! She had ALOT of growth...and EVEN growth. So basically , in order for Annie to heal , she has to grow new . When a horse is laminetk. It is very hard for the growth to come in lots of factors come into play like blood flow in all kinds of stuff , but annie wasn't given a very good chance because she had all odds against her her vina grams showed little to no blood flow to her hoof before we put on the clogs. I THINK I'VE HAD A SMILE ON MY FACE SINCE I LEFT THE CLINIC.I CANNOT THANK WEBER SHOEING AND NEBRASKA EQUINE ENOUGH. This does not mean any is out of the woods. This means we have to keep the exact same angles and keep doing what we've been doing to keep the same growth happening. Lots of work goes into any everyday keeping her comfortable in keeping her stall dry and deeply bedded. However , this horse means a lot to me and for the first time I heard someone say to me you made the right choice! The only other person that said that to me was my mom and that's because she always supports me a hundred percent , thanks , Mom! So we will take at one appointment at a time eight weeks at a time , but for now , I am extremely happy.
