Animal Lifeline, Inc. MISSION STATEMENT
Animal Lifeline Corp., Inc. Our mission is to save and home as many cats and dogs as possible. P.O. Box 1034
Bellmore, NY 11710

in Bellmore, NY is a non profit, tax deductible, tax exempt, 501(c)3 animal rescue incorporated in 1977 for the purpose of aiding the animals in our area. WHAT WE DO
- Animal Lifeline Corp., Inc rescues cats and dogs from the streets and fosters them until homes can be found. We are dedicated to the humane trapping, spay/neutering, and rehabilitation of local stray cats and dogs.

- We are very ac

tive with our TNR program. After trapping and vetting (which includes spay/neutering, checking for diseases, and other medical care), some ferals will always remain feral. These animals are returned to their original sites and fed and monitored. By curtailing the breeding cycles, we help to reduce the appalling number of strays killed in local shelters.

- When orphaned newborns are rescued, they are nursed, nurtured, and put up for adoption.

- We loan out kitten cages and offer bottle feeding and adoption how-to's. (See our Links page on raising kittens - *website in progress)

- We have no "shelter" and do not take animals who are no longer welcome in their homes for reasons of allergies, new family arrivals, or behavioral problems. Instead, we offer advice on how to solve these issues.

- We never take any animals to a "kill" shelter and discourage people from resorting to such "solutions." DONATIONS can be mailed to

Little One is her name. Her expression seems sorrowful and shattered, unaware that her mother, Patricia, will never return.💔🥺

She finds herself alone in the darkened house, devoid of warmth, without an electric blanket to comfort her, and with no one beside her in bed.

I first encountered Little One and her mother, Patricia, two years ago. An elderly with the hugest heart.
A call came in regarding a ginger cat that required assistance after being attacked by a dog.

All the rescue organizations wanted to trap this cat and euthanize it due to its unfriendly nature.😠

Patricia Kenny, an 86 year-old woman in distress, had recently lost her dog to poisoning by a neighbor, and all the neighborhood cats had been killed by locals who despised them.😖

The task was referred to me through wildlife rescue, as I was among the few who answered her call for help.

I went out, captured the cat, ensured it received full veterinary care, socialized it, and ultimately found it a forever home. That cat was Tobi, the ginger cat adopted last year.💪🏻

I learned about Little One’s heartbreaking story.
Her mother arrived on a stormy day, bringing her along.

Little One dashed into Patricia's house, where she left food for the local cats, but the mother and her siblings did not follow.🙁

The mother returned alone and never came back, despite Patricia's efforts to leave food out in hopes of her return.😢

I offered to provide full veterinary care for the cat, which I did, recognizing the immense love and joy this kitty had brought into Patricia's life.🥰

Patricia named her Little One, socialized her, and allowed her to sleep on her bed. She pampered her with prawns once a week.

Patricia cherished her and found hope each morning in getting up. She frequently reached out to me with questions, as she hadn’t owned a cat in over 40 years.

I would visit / check in on Patricia, but unfortunately, in the last two months, I became preoccupied with my own rescue cats.😢

Then, I received the heartbreaking phone call this week from her daughter, informing me that Patricia had passed away.😢😭

The department of housing where she resided will be boarded up, and the cat is in need of a new home.

No family members are able to take her,🤷‍♀️ and their mother’s final wish was to ensure that Little One’s is neither euthanized nor given up to a shelter or pound, however, Little One was not included in Patricia's will to ensure her future.😢

This is why I strongly encourage everyone to consider their pets in their wills. They discovered my name and number along with a note requesting that I be contacted if anything were to happen to Patricia.

Therefore, at some point today, I will be picking her up along with any food supplies she has.
The stressful part is ensuring I have enough space for her to feel comfortable, and yes, that means another mouth to feed.😞

She is an extremely shy and timid cat and a sweetheart once she warms up, but having only ever trusted Patricia.

She has been kept completely indoors, so I am reaching out for assistance.

I sincerely hope that someone with a generous heart can offer this lovely girl a forever home.🙏🏻
