To prevent severe digestive discomfort and reduce the risk of a dangerous condition called bloat, avoid feeding your dog a large meal immediately before or after vigorous activity. A good rule of thumb is to wait at least 30 to 60 minutes after exercise for them to completely cool down before filling up their bowl, or give them an hour to digest before heading out.
