An FYI:

As Spring starts, some of you may see red bites on the stomach of your dog.

These are a type of fly bite, and dogs generally get them from hanging out grass. They look terrible, but usually do not bother the dog. They heal quickly on their own, and do not require any treatment.

These flies are usually around for a few weeks every spring and then go away.

Foster anyone?

Please meet 1-yr-old Minnie, just rescued from a high-kill shelter where they’re overloaded with dogs and cats due to the fires in California.

These are heartbreaking times for the animals and rescues. She is petrified but is sweet and will be happy to have a foster to help her settle into a new life.
