Aemond Cat

I know I’ve been MIA on Aemonds page but i just wanted to update and say Aemond obviously stayed with us. This was not the original plan but I fell in love. I’m NOT a cat person. I love all animals but I was never drawn to cats, however this boy stole my heart. Not only do I love him like crazy, he has become Fiona’s (my Pomeranian) best friend. He is the sweetest and I’m so grateful to everyone who shared, donated and said a little prayer for him to recover and make it through. He is a tough happy cat that I plan on giving an great life to. ❤️

Sweet Aemond got his stitches removed yesterday! He also had a sweet bonding moment with our Lily girl who is also coincidentally missing the exact same eye that she lost as a kitten. ❤️🐱❤️

He’s been doing so much better! Playing, eating and refusing to wear his cone 😂 he will get his stitches out next week and we will then decide with a clean bill of health the next step of his journey. ❤️

Sorry for the delay my family has been down with a sickness!

Surgery was a success and Aemond is back “home” recovering. He looks pretty rough and is swollen pretty bad but we know it’s only temporary and the pain meds seem to be relieving any discomfort.

He will go back in 2 weeks to have the stitches removed and check his progress.

We want to thank everyone so much for all the love and support you’ve shown this sweet kitten. We are closing the GoFundMe as the amount raised was enough to cover his expenses for surgery thanks to the wonderful caring team at Porter Pet Hospital. We will continue to update his page ❤️

Just dropped Aemond off for surgery prep! Tomorrow is the big day! We will update on how the surgery went once we hear from the vet. ❤️

Aemonds eye seems to be worse today than it has been. I’m worried about him but so thankful we have surgery scheduled tomorrow. We are on day 6 of antibiotics and all trace of the upper respiratory infection seem to be gone. He is such a little fighter and sweet baby.

Surgery Scheduled!

We have been back and forth on the phone constantly with vets, shelters and low cost clinics. We are soooo happy to say we have finally been able to find Porter Pet Hospital to do Aemonds eye removal surgery.

He will go in Wednesday morning and we are continuing to ask for good thoughts, prayers and donations towards this kittens recovery.

Quick update!

We have reached out to shelters and have had no luck finding help. We understand shelters are overrun with cats/kittens and do not have extra funding for injured kittens. We are waiting on the Huron county humane society to give us a call back as they were recommended as someone who may be able to help by another shelter.

A quote from Four County vet has been requested so we can be as transparent as possible with where the funds we raise are going. We have started his healing with 10 day antibiotics, flea medication, ear mite medication and worm medication. This bill totaled $152.32.

We are still consulting other vets hoping to find a lower quote and a dr who can remove the eye sooner than later to insure a deadly infection won’t occur.

October 28th

This morning we checked on Aemond and were so pleased to find he ate his entire dinner and made use of his litter box.

He is currently being treated for his fleas, worms, ear mites and upper respiratory infection. He is such a brave good kitten when he gets his antibiotics. He’s in much better spirits today and is enjoying all the attention. We are relieved to finally hear much purring coming from him.

We are happy he is not contagious to dogs but is being quarantined just in case.

Aemonds Story

We are Darling Dog Grooming located in Bellevue, Ohio. On October 26th while out picking pumpkins our owner Bobbi was surprised by a tiny, visibly injured kitten. With no one around claiming him she knew she couldn’t leave him. The next morning he was brought to Four County Veterinarian and after an exam was found to have the following…

*Fleas
*Ear mites
*Worms
*Upper respiratory infection
*An infection of his right eye that has resulted in irreversible damage

We have been told his eye will need to be removed within the next month or it could result in more issues and possibly death. At this time the surgery alone to remove his eye and begin his journey to recover is $800. We are asking our friends, family and kind strangers to aid us in our mission to see this sweet kitten thrive.
