Spring isn’t only vaccines time - horses should be dewormed once or twice per year depending on their specific needs. Before deworming in the spring, we recommend having a f***l egg count (FEC) done. This procedure allows us to measure the number of worm eggs a horse is shedding in its manure.
Based on the results, the vet will be more knowledgeable and prepared to advise on a deworming plan for your horse.
Performing routine preventative services is an important pet of your horse’s wellbeing and care. Call or email if you have questions and to schedule an appointment.
