Digital Dermatitis, also known as hoof rot, is an infectious condition of the skin that commonly occurs in the interdigital cleft of the foot.

This infection is usually caused by some sort of agitation of the skin that allows bacteria under the surface. Symptoms include irritated skin, painful lesions, and lameness.

Some preventative measures you can take to avoid this painful infection is

1. Provide a hygienic and dry living environment
2. Use Spurr’s Big Fix’s Livestock Antiseptic to cut down on harmful bacteria buildup.

If caught in the early stages, hoof rot can easily be treated. With Spurr’s Big Fix’s Livestock Antiseptic Spray simply spray the hoof and allow 15-20 seconds to dry before setting the hoof down.
