🐓Five mares. One herd.
This week we integrated our five mares, and it has been wonderful to watch them begin to function as a unified herd. There were introductions, adjustments, and a few discussions along the way, but now they are finding their places and settling into life together.

Horses remind us that healthy relationships aren’t built overnight. Trust takes time, boundaries matter, and patience often brings the best results.

🐓At The Barn

There’s just something satisfying about watching a horse have a full-on dust bath moment šŸ¤Ž

Bonnie Lass decided the arena was the perfect spa treatment — two side rolls and that dramatic shake-off at the end šŸ˜‚

Rolling isn’t just horses being goofy (although… it definitely looks hilarious sometimes). It’s actually a natural behavior that helps them scratch itches, loosen dirt and hair, relax muscles, and just enjoy being a horse.

And honestly? Seeing a horse feel safe enough to completely let down and roll around is one of those quiet little reminders that they’re content.

Now we want to know…

Does your horse have a favorite rolling spot?
The arena?
Fresh shavings?
The one muddy patch you wish they’d avoid? šŸ˜…

Drop a photo or video of your horse mid-roll in the comments — bonus points for the giant dust cloud or the post-roll shake! šŸ‘‡šŸ“āœØ

🐓What Makes Horses So Special?
There’s something about horses that reaches deeper than words. Their beauty, strength, sensitivity, and quiet power have drawn people in for generations. They carry both power and gentleness at the same time — majestic enough to take your breath away, yet sensitive enough to respond to the smallest shift in a human heart.

In a loud and hurried world, horses slow people down. They pull us back into the present moment — into stillness, trust, peace, and connection. Maybe that’s why so many people come to barns searching for something they can’t quite explain. Around horses, people often find a kind of healing, grounding, and freedom that is hard to find anywhere else.

One of the most beautiful verses about horses is found in Job, when God Himself describes them with awe:

ā€œDo you give the horse its strength or clothe its neck with a flowing mane?ā€ — Job 39:19

What a picture of God’s craftsmanship — strength wrapped in beauty, power carried with grace. Horses remind us of the wonder of creation and of how deeply God cares about beauty, strength, and relationship. There truly is something special about them… and maybe part of that gift is how they help people breathe, slow down, and feel alive again.

What do you think makes horses so uniquely special compared to any other animal? šŸ‘‡šŸ’¬ā¤ļø

🐓 Unexpected Guest
After nearly 1.2 inches of rain, thunderstorms, muddy boots, and even a short power outage last night… this morning brought us a surprise barn visitor! šŸ˜‚šŸ¦ž

Walking right across the driveway by the barn was a CRAWDAD! First time we’ve ever seen one this close to the house and barn. Apparently all this rain had him out exploring new territory. šŸŒ§ļø

Not exactly sure where he came from or where he thought he was going, but he was determined to get to the other side of the driveway. We safely relocated our little traveler to a safer spot near water so he could continue his adventure. 😊

Country life keeps things interesting around here!

Now I have to ask… what’s the strangest thing YOU’VE found wandering around your barn or property after a big rain? šŸ˜‚šŸ‘‡

🐓Special Moments
There’s something special about a horse who chooses to simply lie down and take in the moment. Not asleep, not restless—just quietly present. In that space, you see a horse who feels safe, comfortable, and at ease in both body and mind. It’s a quiet kind of contentment that can’t be forced or trained—only earned through trust, consistency, and a peaceful environment. Moments like this are a gentle reminder that when a horse feels truly secure, they don’t just exist… they settle.

šŸŽ„ļæ¼Merry ChristmasšŸŽ„
This Christmas wreath showed up in my barn, and I honestly have no idea who hung it there—but I absolutely love it.

It feels like a quiet reminder of the kindness and care that surrounds horses, barns, and the people who love them.

Wishing all my horse friends, barn folks, and community a peaceful and joyful Christmas. šŸŽ„šŸ“
