We opted for a different meat bird this year & I am actually disappointed. I loved that the white rangers feathered like a typical chicken - but they didn’t grow large like a Cornish x did.
If we ever do meaties again, I’ll go back to my freedom rangers - my birds were beyond huge last year, and good looking.
Alas, this however, is my last year with meaties. The cost to process is getting to pricy, along with the cost of food feed. At this point, I think it costed more to grow ours out than it would to even purchase the organic chicken at the market.
Also, I hope to get the egg stand back soon - but 89% of my hens are broody or brooding chicks. I think we got 6 eggs yesterday 😂😭
