Happy Birthday, Shamrock ☘️ This beloved boy turned 9 on February 17. After serving his person with PTSD for 8 years, he is enjoying the retired life. Short walks, long naps, lots of love ❤️ and treats, of course, because this Labrador will never turn down a snack! Happy Birthday, Bestest Boy!

Every breeder makes decisions on how they will perpetuate their breeding program into the future. Some families elect to find caring homes for their females once they are done breeding and others continue to add an increasing number of females to their home.

At The Heeling Place we believe every dog should be raised in a loving home and being a Guardian Family is an excellent way to welcome a beautiful Retriever into your forever family! Since we do not kennel dogs, to continue our breeding program we rely on trustworthy, caring individuals who are selected to participate in our Guardian Program. This ensures that all of our future breeding dogs will be raised as a family member in a loving home environment.

Our Guardian Homes are an integral part of our Heeling Place community, and we value their partnership greatly! We would love to have a conversation with you if you are interested in becoming a Guardian Family. We are currently accepting applications!

Hello furrends! Welcome to the Heeling Place. We are a responsible breeder of labradors and golden retrievers. We breed specifically for the health and temperament of service and therapy dogs. All potential breeding dogs are health and temperament tested prior to becoming a mama or a daddy. This means they get DNA 🧬 testing, hip & elbow x-rays, examined by an doggy eye specialist & a doggy cardiologist. This ensures only the healthiest genes go into making your next family member and/or working dog.

We also provide dog training for your puppy or adult dog that you’ve purchased from us. This means you have the option of bringing home a “started” puppy that is crate trained, introduced to housebreaking, and on their way to building the foundation of basic obedience. You also have the option of bringing your puppy back to us for basic or advanced obedience, and service or therapy dog training when the time is right for you! We prefer to board your dog with us and train it on our 15 acres of doggy heaven while you vacation or simply catch up on all the sleep you lost during the puppy phase. We have several travel options available to meet you & your best furrend’s preference. We will post updates of training progress here and also send you videos during their visit with us. They will make furrends, learn a lot, and come home worn out!

We are so excited to start this new phase of our business! We’ve been training dogs for several years but believe there is a need for more responsible breeders and healthier pups. We chose the name, The Heeling Place, because we have experienced the God given healing power of dogs time and time again. It’s a beautiful journey to make yourself but to watch it develop as a third party is a true blessing!
