First seasoned pass for the mini dog guy today!! Couldn’t be more proud of our boys! Luke at just 6yrs old stepped up to run with the big dogs and ran like a champ!

Introducing:
🌙 GRHRCH LSKS LOVE YA TO THE MOON MH 🌙

If you know team GCK, you’ve likely met our best girl, Moon.

But what a lot of people don’t know is where Moon came from.

Once upon a time, a young (and probably still very grumpy) Chase was working for another trainer. There was a dog in his kennel, Waffles. Waffles was anxiety ridden and her owners no longer wanted her. So Chase gave all his money (apparently that was $300ish. Still accurate. HA!) and Waffles became Moon.

At one point he was told “you should have named her Moon 💩 Walker because that chocolate dog won’t be worth anything”.

But, true to her name, Moon is steady. She shines for her people and she’s always there, constant as the day is long.

She has achieved a lot in her career: Master Hunter, GRHRCH, 500+ points club..

She’s also been our best friend. Our constant companion. Our go to test dog. Our “go get the bird someone else couldn’t”. Our “you can train on Moon, she’ll show you how to do it”.

And from the start, she has consistently carried the weight of GCK on her back.

She has given her all to us, in more ways than we ever deserved.

But today. Today we get to celebrate Moon’s retirement (from the hunt test world. Our girl will still be around in all the ways)

Enjoy every second of it, sweet girl.

We can take it from here.

We have had some sad news around the kennel.

Since GCK’s kennel was built, we had amazing neighbors. They watched over our kennel when we couldn’t. Helped out when they could. And overall did more than we could have asked for.

Today they officially moved on to bigger things and they will be missed.

To make matters worse for the dog guy…

His CEO is officially moving in across the street. And rumor has it, she works from home… a lot.

The dogs think this is great news. But if you see Chase, maybe just give him a pat on the back. He’ll be fine.

Team GCK and had a great weekend at Ozark HRA Master test! Our little future dog guy cleaned house!

They gotta know you love’m! The biggest thing we as trainers miss out on is developing a relationship with the pups in our kennel. I’ve been guilty of it myself! But the more they know you love on them, praise their good work, throw them an extra treat and the two of you build a bond, I guarantee their performance in the field will improve!!
