🎃🐈⬛NO TRICKS, JUST TREATS…AND FEWER KITTENS! 🐈⬛🎃
🐈For years, the City has supported a CATch😉& Release program to help reduce the number of unwanted cats and kittens by:
🧡Hosting at least two FREE spay/neuter clinics each year, giving an opportunity to have feral cats sterilized.
🧡Allocating $5,000 annually in the Animal Control budget specifically for feral cat spay and neuter services.
🧡Authorizing additional spay and neuter expenses outside the scheduled clinics when needed to address problematic areas and growing colonies.
🐈This year we have already sterilized over 200 cats and according to published research that could prevent approximately 400 kitten births in a single breeding season. Continued Catch & Release efforts can help reduce community cat populations over time, preventing unwanted litters.
That's 400 fewer little lives facing the challenges of surviving outdoors without homes🥹
🧡When cats are brought in for sterilization they are also vaccinated against Rabies & FVRCP to help prevent the spread of disease for the public health and safety of our citizens and their pets🐈
This Halloween, let's remember that the best treat we can give community cats is a healthier future! 🧡🐈⬛
Catch & Release works when we work together. Thank you to everyone who helps trap, transport, and release our community cats🐈🐈⬛
