Sarah is a shy-but-sweet little girl, about 4 years old, who lost the only home she'd ever known due to an eviction, losing both her human and feline families in the process, leaving her confused about why her world was turned upside down, perhaps wondering if she did anything wrong. After what she's been through, one can easily understand that it takes her a long time for their trust to be earned. From her video, you can see she likes to be held and pet, but her adopter will need to be patiently proactive to help her acclimate to her new home. She would do best in a quiet home where she won't be left unaccompanied for long periods of time. preferably with an adopter who is patient enough to help her acclimate to her new environment.

She has been:
- spayed
- given rabies and distemper vaccinations
- tested negative for FeLV and FIV
- treated for worms and fleas
- examined and determined to be healthy by a vet

Their adopter will receive their medical records. Because they are a bonded pair, they must be adopted together. There is a simple adoption process and a greatly discounted adoption fee to facilitate her adoption. She's being fostered in Roslindale.

Cats can live up to 20 years, so give careful thought to the changes that are likely to occur in your life during that time. Little Bella is a petite, pink-nosed tuxedo girl who was rescued as a frightened, hungry stray after having been abandoned outside to fend for herself over the winter. At only a year old, Bella is barely more than a kitten and, at less than eight pounds, she isn't much larger than one. She's an affectionate, well-behaved little lass who loves to play and keep people company while watching TV or on the computer. She has a history of getting along with other cats, but we have not observed her with dogs or kids. We think she would do well with kids who know how to treat cats respectfully. She would do best in a home where she will not be left unaccompanied for long periods of time. Bella will be as devoted a companion as anyone could ever want. Give her love, and she will return a thousand times more. She seems to be an easy cat who would be an excellent choice for a first-time adopter.

Bella has been:
- Spayed
- given rabies and distemper vaccinations
- tested negative for FeLV and FIV
- treated for worms and fleas
- examined and determined to be healthy by a vet

Her adopter will receive her medical records. There is a simple adoption process and an adoption fee so we can continue to help cats in need. She's being fostered in Melrose.

Merlot and Yam are a bonded pair of boys, about 5-6 years old, who need a home. These two were surrendered from a hoarding situation in which they received very little human interaction. As a result, it takes them a long time for their trust to be earned, From their video, you can see they've made great progress, but their adopter will need to be patiently proactive to help them acclimate to their new home. Their foster mom says they're the most closely bonded pair she's seen in her years as a foster, so they must be adopted together. They like to hang out with their foster mom, play with string toys, and be pet on their terms. Merlot is grey and white, Yam is black and white. We recommend a quiet home with an adopter who is experienced with cats for these boys.

They have been:
- spayed
- given rabies and distemper vaccinations
- tested negative for FeLV and FIV
- treated for worms and fleas

Toby is an affectionate little guy, about a year and a half old, who needs a home. If there were a contest for the World's Friendliest Cat, Toby would surely be a contender. The poor little guy lost his home when the person who meant the world to him decided to surrender him because they moved and chose not to take him. He was understandably saddened by this, but he quickly recognized that his fosters were being nice to him, and he showed himself to be an affectionate boy who responds to petting with a warm purr. He peacefully coexists with dogs and other cats. We haven't observed him with kids; but we think he would do well with kids who know how to treat a cat respectfully; he seems to like everyone. Toby would do best in an interactive home where he will get lots of play time and not be left unaccompanied for long periods of time. He seems to be an easy lap cat who would be suitable for a first-time adopter.

He has been:

Do you want to do right for cats who've been done wrong? Cat rescuer needs volunteers to assist cats of all ages in need. Most needed are fosters to provide temporary homes for cats awaiting adoption. Nearly all are adopted within a few weeks. With very few exceptions, all will have been vaccinated, tested for FIV and FeLV, and spayed/neutered prior to placement into a foster home. The most common exceptions are of extremely young kittens who are too young to have had certain procedures or certain emergency situations. Vet care is provided at our vet.

If cats need rescuing, but they have no place to go, they don't get rescued. If you do this, you WILL help save the lives of cats who would have died otherwise.

Also needed are volunteers to assist in transporting cats to foster homes and to the veterinarian.

Please reply to [email protected] or via PM this post with your name and phone number.

Big Levi is an affectionate five-year-old boy who has "good boy" written all over him. He lost the only home he had ever known due to an eviction. He is a gentle boy who is still adjusting to this upheaval, so he should be adopted by someone who will give him lots of TLC, lots of play time, and will not leave him unaccompanied for long periods of time. He seems to be intimidated by dogs and would prefer not to be around other cats, so he should be the sole king of his feline domain. We have not observed him with kids. We think he would do well with older kids who know how to treat cats respectively, but probably not with the bustle of young children. Whoever adopts him will get a devoted companion for life. Yes, he's a larger-than-average cat. Levi seems to be an easy cat suitable for a first-time adopter.

Levi has been:
- neutered
- vaccinated against rabies and distemper
- tested negative for FeLV and FIV
- treated for worms and fleas
- examined and determined to be healthy by a vet

Levi has had recent dental work, so he's all set in that area for the foreseeable future. His adopter will receive his medical records. There is a simple adoption process and an adoption fee so we can continue to help cats in need. He's being fostered in Medford.

Once upon a time, nine-year-old Maxi lived with an elderly person who meant the world to her and for whom she was a constant following-room-to-room companion. Unfortunately, that person passed away, and no one in the family wanted the poor old girl, so Maxi's life was turned upside-down. On top of that, she was left alone in the apartment for two months, with someone coming in only to feed her and scoop her litter box, but without interacting with her.

After a few days of adjustment in her foster home, Maxi has shown herself to be as sweet a cat as anyone is ever likely to find. She is a rub-against-your-leg, greet-you-when-you-come-home purring machine. She can get overstimulated from petting sometimes, so we think she would do best in a home without the frequent presence of very young children, but we think she would be okay with older kids who know how to treat cats respectfully. We have not observed her with dogs and other cats. Like most cats, she would do best in a home in which she won't be left unaccompanied for long. Maxi seems to be an easy cat who will be a devoted companion for the rest of her life. She likes to perch herself on shelves and atop the refrigerator, so, if you like friends in high places, Maxi is the right girl for you. She seems suitable for a first-time adopter.

She has been spayed, tested negative for FIV and FeLV, treated for worms and fleas, tested for internal parasites, and is current on vaccinations. Her adopter will receive her medical records, which reflect a recent veterinary exam giving her a clean bill of health.

There is a simple adoption process and an adoption fee so we can continue to help cats in need. Maxi's fee is a mere $65- a bargain for a new best friend who will love you for the rest of her life. She's being fostered in Reading.

Cats can live up to 20 years, and don't be surprised if Maxi lives that long, so give careful thought to the changes that are likely to occur in your life during that time. If you can and will commit to her and provide a safe, loving home for life, then respond to [email protected]. One-year-old Kizmet was rescued from a would-be angora breeder who turned into a rather appalling hoarder. True to her ancestry, her fur is exceptionally soft. Her foster mom says Kizmet is a mellow, sometimes sassy kitty who can take a while to get out of her shell, but, once she does, she’ll strut around and own the place. She likes to play with shoelaces and is a big fan of birdwatching. She has a history of peacefully coexisting with other cats, but would be fine as the sole feline princess of her domain. She would probably do best in a quiet environment without the bustle of young children, and adopted by someone with enough patience to help her adjust to her new home.

She has

Three-year-old Eclipse was surrendered by someone whose plans for refurnishing their home did not include keeping this poor guy. It seems Eclipse did not get much affection in his former home, anyway.

Eclipse might just be the friendliest cat you're ever likely to meet. Although he was discarded by someone whom he loved with all his heart, he has not lost his ability to trust or to love. It didn't take long for this outgoing boy to take to his foster home, possibly because he might have experienced people being nice to him for the first time in his life. His fosters say he likes to being pet and enjoys a lot of attention. He likes cuddling and following them around with whatever they do around the house. He adjusted pretty easily in general and even does well with visitors. We haven't observed him with dogs, other cats, or kids; we think he'd be good with kids who know how to treat cats respectfully-- cats usually are. As friendly and social as he is, he should go to an interactive home where he will not be left unaccompanied for long periods of time. Whoever adopts this boy is going to get a devoted best friend for life. Eclipse appears to be an easy cat who seems suitable for a first-time adopter.

He has been:
- neutered
- given rabies and distemper vaccinations
- tested negative for FeLV and FIV
- treated for worms and fleas

Six-year-old Simon and five-year-old Gliffy are bonded buddies who lost the only home they had ever known due to an eviction. Being the big, friendly boys that they are, it didn't take long for their trust to be earned after they arrived in their foster home, you will find that their warm-hearted natures will emerge. They’re big and very affectionate boys who follow their foster mom around for play and pets. Gliffy will pat you with his paw and headbutt you to remind you that the rubbing needs to continue, especially belly rubs. They rough-house with each other, but haven’t ever scratched or bitten a human. We have not observed them with dogs or kids; we think they would do well with children who understand how to treat cats respectfully. They are easy boys who love attention and would be suitable for first-time adopters.

Both have been neutered, tested negative for FIV and FeLV, treated for worms and fleas, and are current on vaccinations. Their adopter will receive their medical records. There is a simple adoption process and an adoption fee so we can continue to help cats in need. Because we want them to get adopted together, their adoption fee has been discounted to a mere $270 total-- a bargain for two new best friends who will be devoted companions for life. They're inseparable and we wouldn't dream of separating them. They are being fostered in Boston's Back Bay area.

Cats can live up to 20 years, so give careful thought to the changes that are likely to occur in your life during that time. If you can and will commit to them and provide a safe, loving home for life, then respond to their foster coordinator, who can provide more information about the process, at [email protected].
