Today, I am again filled with sadness...one of my best buddies, Ms Rozzi, has crossed the Rainbow Bridge. We cherish every single furkid entrusted to our care, but Rozzi was definitely a favorite with everyone at Happy Paws! When we first started with Rozzi, she HATED every human who didn't live in her house...but she had the BEST pet parents and they were committed to making her have a good life. They took her to a behaviorist in Blacksburg, who wrote me into the rehabilitation plan. We started off with her fully muzzled...it took 6-8 weeks (multiple sessions weekly) before she was ready to be around me without the muzzle. Once that muzzle came off, we were besties the rest of her life...she accepted my staff (with some time) and it was beautiful to see her expanding her circle and making friends. Her circle remained small, but she loved us all with her whole being...and when a dog makes you work that hard for their affection, it creates a fierce bond. I will love you forever Rozzi and I will never forget you. Please keep her humans, Candi and Jonathan in your prayers as i know their hearts are broken tonight too.
