Y'all, my head is shakin' and my eyes are rollin'...hard. I'm going to put yet another blurb in my contract because the DNA tests like Basepaws and Wisdom, etc who offer BREED dna are BOGUS. They are fun and HIGHLY INACCURATE and I'm tired of seeing good breeders get bashed because Susie from Arkansas' Maine C**n came back at 73% MC and not 100% and based on that she paid for a mutt and wants her money back. Nope.
1. Most all "breeds" are man made. So that Ragdoll is most likely going to show you Ragdoll, Persian, Birman, Burmese, etc, in who knows what percentages.
2. The databases are in their infancy. They don't have enough data to say what breed is what. As they gather more, the testing MIGHT become a little more accurate.
3. The dna tests ARE 99% accurate for health and color genetics, so go for it, but only for those.
