ISO weekend barn staff for my farm in Beaverdam. Flexible shift work: brief morning shift and afternoon shift (max 2 hours) on Saturdays and/or Sundays. Duties include feeding, turning out, and cleaning stalls. Must be responsible, hard working, and experienced with horses. Great part time gig for a college student. Good pay for a fairly minimal time commitment. Message me if you’re interested!

Well, cat’s out of the bag! I am super excited to be joining the team at Randolph-Macon Equestrian Center ( ) this year! A huge thank you to John and the whole crew of staff and clients who have been so incredibly welcoming! I am so excited to help the college continue to grow, and I am thrilled to be a newly minted Yellow Jacket!

I am looking forward to a fun, busy summer getting to know everyone at RMC, and so thankful for all the mentors and friends I’ve met along the way. I am so proud to have worked with the many professionals in our community who are knowledgeable, kind, supportive, and always put the horses first. I am fortunate to continue to work with people that inspire me to be better. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, to everyone that’s ever given me an encouraging word, a bit of advice, or a harsh wake-up call… I am deeply grateful for it all. As our community grows and changes, I am eager to continue to grow with it. Cheers to a fun summer ahead!!!

Latte wrapped up his training this month with a field trip off-property to see some new sights, and he was a super star. It’s always great to see the payoff from consistency, patience, and focusing on the basics. I’m so excited to see him and his owner, a very talented young lady named Rylee, continue to grow together as a team this year!

Eternally grateful to and for the opportunity to help bring this horse along. ‘Artistic License’ completed his first Hunter derby at last week and represented the Thoroughbred breed impeccably: classic, brave, and full of heart. It was a true honor to be his jockey.

Last night I had to unexpectedly say goodbye to a huge piece of my heart. My beloved partner of 11 years, the once in a lifetime horse that gave me everything, got her wings and galloped away to heaven. My heart is broken into a million pieces. Life is so fragile and can change in the blink of an eye. Mattie, thank you for every day you gave me.

Big congrats to Summer & Niko, who ended their season as year-end Reserve Champion in Equitation on the Flat 15-17 in the CHSA. Summer has had her hands full with a young, very green, very big, unconventional horse and has brought him along beautifully this year. .southworth

What a stunning beast! This guy was so brave stepping around the Green/Open Classic at VHSA Finals last month. He’s got such a great future ahead of him with his amazing owner Shanthi. I’m so happy I got to be a part of Team Fergie this year!
