I wanna be very clear. I did not make this graphic, in fact I’m pretty sure that it was made by someone using AI .
Let me go ahead and answer the question since the person who posted this doesn’t know why the dogs look so different here in America vs Europe.
I thought that I had pretty much cleared this up when I basically shouted about this study from the rooftops, but clearly not enough people have seen it. So… let me go ahead and clear it up again.
The American Corso is a made up breed using Neapolitan mastiff, Rottweiler and other various mastiff breeds. They are not Corso with a little bit of mixing.. it’s a completely counterfeit breed and they were bred that way for decades with very little actual Corso ever being mixed in .
The real authentic Corso in Europe is a breed going back over 1000 years in Italy. Despite claims of heavy boxer influence, this has never been proven scientifically. When the dogs in Italy were tested, they proved to be a true homogenous breed not a mixed breed like the American Corso.
This was proven in a study where they compared the DNA of the dogs in America to the dogs in Italy.
This is not some embark DNA test that only compares the dogs with the dogs that were already sampled in the United States.
This is direct comparison between the American stock and the Italian stock.
I don’t care what you wanna breed so long as you’re honest with your customers about what you have.
But that’s why they look different because they’re completely different breeds. They act different too.
Now I know that’s gonna ruffle some feathers, but I don’t care. I never have, and I never will. I’m only ever gonna speak the truth, and the truth hurts. So I’m not surprised that it pi**es people off.
As far as working together, I will not work with American Corso in my lines. If people want to add my European studs or my European lines into their American stock that’s fine. I don’t care, do what you wanna do, but I personally will not introduce it into my kennel.
