Romans' Rescue Inc 501(c)(3) Non-Profit Organization - Senior Dog Rescue and Rehab located in Beaver Falls (Chippewa Township) PA

Romans’ Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit dog rescue organization serving Beaver County, PA and surrounding areas. We are dedicated to rescuing medium and large breed senior dogs that are unwanted, abandoned, abused, ill or stray. We accept senior dogs that are surrendered by their owners for various reasons – divorce, new baby, moving, new job, can’t afford food or medical expenses, etc. We also w

ork with and support fellow rescues and community animal advocate groups to provide a better life for homeless dogs. Each dog at Romans’ Rescue lives with our family in our home as their safe haven until a permanent home is found or until their time on this earth is over. By living in our home, we are able to learn more about each dog, which leads to finding the best homes possible. Prior to adoption, all dogs will receive vaccinations, will be spayed/neutered, will be microchipped, will be heartworm and Lyme tested, and will be on heartworm and flea and tick preventatives. Dogs are placed in permanent homes after a thorough application process. We strive to find the perfect family match for each dog based on temperament and their necessary care. We do not adopt on a first come first served basis, but based rather on the best match of dog and family. Each approved family will be educated on the necessary care and expense of their new family member. Since our rescue facility is our home, the administrative cost of the rescue is quite low. Being as such, we are able to use nearly every penny donated directly for the care of the dogs. We rely on the support of the community through monetary donations and volunteer hours.

The good news is that Roxi will likely be adopted this week. The sad news is that Max will not be adopted any time soon and will be alone in he and Roxi's area of the house. Thanks to Marty's lack of tolerance with other dogs, we need to find Max a foster home. Somewhere without children under 10 and preferably without other dogs. Max has lived with cats his entire life before coming to rescue. He is 9 years old and completely housetrained. He will stay in a crate but is well behaved alone and out of the crate 24/7.His favorite past time is napping and sun bathing and chewing on bones. He takes medication every day for his thyroid. Medication and all medical care will be covered by the rescue if he goes to a foster home. Fostering is not a life time commitment but a commitment to saving a life. Please consider giving Max a family to hang out with while helping him on his weight loss journey.

UPDATE ADOPTED!! Going home Tuesday!

Jessie is a 9 year old Boxer/Mastiff mix. She is a very sad and confused baby girl because her owner just surrendered her this week.

Where are our senior lovers? We need you! She needs you!

Jessie is 119 lbs. She is a gentle giant to say the least. She just sat while I petted her in her kennel. She doesn't know what to make of this loud and crazy place. We gave her extra blankets on her kennel floor. 119 pounds laying on tile doesn't feel so good. Hopefully she will choose to use her bed soon.

9 years old and homeless. Doesn't seem fair does it?

If you have any questions please call Sarah during shelter hours. 330-549-1111

This baby needs a miracle.

Huge step and a first time ever for Marty! He actually calmed down and laid down on a bed by choice and all on his own. He has made such progress and gets better every day -- baby steps.

One year ago, then Miley - now Molly, went to her new furever home and what a great home it is!!! Molly was leash and dog reactive after being tied outside the first four years of her life. Her new family gave Molly all the love and professional training she needed to overcome her fears and live a happy life in her new home! Thank you Sam and Erin Estabrook Gibson for giving Molly an amazing first year in her new life and thank you A&B Canine training for helping in their journey!

It is becoming increasingly important that we find Roxi (Ruby) a home. Our lives have taken some turns here at the rescue and we find ourselves out of the home multiple hours with work and medical needs for our oldest boy. Roxi is getting bored alone and she wants so desperately for us to be home and just love on her and throw the ball once in awhile, but unfortunately it has not been possible the past week nor will it be any time soon. She gets outside multiple times a day, but she longs for someone to just be with her for more time than we can offer. Can you or do you know someone who can give this sweet girl a home? We would prefer she not be in a home with small children. Age 10 or older would be fine. She prefers a calm environment. She is selective with female dogs, but does fine with male dogs. She lived with several cats previously. She is 9 years young with lots of life left to give unconditional love! An owner that is home several days a week would be ideal. Roxi is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, HW and Lyme negative, housetrained and an overall sweetheart. $100 of her adoption fee has been sponsored by an anonymous donor! Please complete an application online if interested. If a home is not found soon, we would like to find a foster home for her. IF interesting in fostering, please message us.
