I've worked in several kennels and grooming shops. I began working in Sun City in late September of 2012, when I first moved over here from TN, where I worked at a kennel/grooming facility. I was hired as a bather by Judy Howard. Now, Judy Howard had been grooming for over 50 years and trained many great groomers, some of which worked at the shop with her. After about 4 months of working there, sh
e began training myself along with another bather, and a close friend of mine. We were then hired on as groomers, full time because we caught on quickly and had a very good knack for it. I so loved my job in that shop. Judy was semi retired and traveled most of the time and my close friend who was trained with me, was sadly diagnosed with cancer and left for a while due to treatment. I was left with another groomer who had been there over 8 years, to run the shop and that's what I did, for just about a year. But unfortunatly Judy wanted to fully retire and RV around the country, so she sold the shop to a friend of hers and a former groomer, and I chose to leave the shop. I've always wanted to have my own shop and I hope to one day start a boarding and grooming facility like my dear friend/former boss in TN. So I started out of my home to, one, help out the senior community since I live in an area with many of them who can't get around too well, and two, to help the community save some money and help their pets feel better. I've seen many of dogs throughout the past few years be neglected due to high costs of grooming. I understand the hardships of working to pay bills and I connect with people by reducing the stress and the rates. I am here to help, I don't judge, I just want the pets to feel better and owners to breathe easy knowing they aren't being taken advantage of.
