♥️♥️♥️
She was never the fastest.
She wasn’t draped in garlands or drowned in applause.
She never heard a roar from the grandstands.
But Somethingroyal changed the world—
by giving it a c**t that would stop time.
She was bred for royalty, yes—daughter of the great Princequillo.
Her blood ran deep with champions,
but her destiny wasn’t to be the legend—
it was to create one.
In 1970, under the quiet Virginia sky at Meadow Farm, Somethingroyal foaled her thirteenth baby.
A big chestnut c**t with legs like stilts, a blaze down his face, and a look in his eyes that was… different.
He was awkward at first.
Too big. Too bold. Too much.
But Somethingroyal stood over him gently, like she knew.
As if, in her bones, she felt the thunder this child would one day bring.
They named him Secretariat.
And she watched him rise.
From the paddocks of Meadow to the roar of Belmont Park.
From a foal nipping at her tail to a stallion running into history.
She didn’t need a trophy.
She had him.
The c**t who shattered records, crushed Triple Crowns,
and ran not just for glory—but with grace, power, and pride she passed on in every stride.
She lived to see him crowned.
She lived to see the world fall in love with her son.
And in the stillness of her later years, Somethingroyal remained the quiet empress of the sport—
the matriarch of greatness,
the mother of immortality.
When she passed in 1988 at the age of 31,
she left behind more than foals.
She left a legacy.
🌹
Some mares make champions.
Somethingroyal made Secretariat.
And in doing so, she reminded the world:
Sometimes the most powerful stories begin in silence,
with a mother who simply believes.

Somethingroyal – the heart behind the legend.
