Barry started making leather goods when he had draft horses and needed some collars for them. The Amish man he bought them from passed away so he went down and stayed with the family for a week and learned how to make them from the daughters, including how to pick out leather from Weaver Leather. He bought the tools and sewing machine from the family and started making tack for his personal use. H
e has always been the kind of guy that could look at something and then build it. One day Barry's daughter needed new tack for her saddle horses, and rather than buy it and pay huge prices, Barry went to his shop, tinkered around and built a breast collar and a bridle. From there he just kept building things as needed. Barry is happy to make blank or naked tack for those who want to finish themselves. Don't see what you're looking for?
