Ever wonder just how much our amazing supporters, volunteers, and local food bank leftovers contribute every month?❤️

For once, we completely ran out of produce—ONE meal before our weekly pickup. 🤦‍♀️ So, off to the store we went!

Zoom in on that receipt… almost $20 for ONE meal for the pigs, ducks, guinea pigs, and the rest of our produce-loving crew. 🐷🦆🐹

Now do the math… 😳 That’s about $600 a month in produce!

Needless to say, we were quickly reminded just how lucky we are to have these food donations. Every bag of apples, head of lettuce, box of veggies, and leftover piece of produce you send our way truly adds up.

So please know—we appreciate those food donations more than you probably realize. Our animals thank you, and so do we! ❤️

This is Emily. ❤️🐴

She’s been volunteer riding with me for the past three years, helping keep Angus in shape and helping with his training along the way. In that time, I’ve watched her grow into a confident, thoughtful, and conscientious rider.

Unfortunately, there’s one thing I can’t teach her to do—stop growing! 😂 Emily has outgrown our Angus pony and is officially moving on to a new barn with bigger horses and new opportunities to build on everything she’s learned here.

I’m going to miss seeing her every week, but I’m so proud of how far she’s come and excited to see where riding takes her next. I’ll be cheering her on every step of the way! ❤️

Apparently the pig bucket is now a turkey buffet. 😂🍈 Reginald helped himself to some cantaloupe on his security guard break and has absolutely zero regrets. 🦃♥️

Meanwhile, the background noise is Scootaloo kicking the gate because Reginald is clearly holding up the food line with his cuteness! 😂🐴🍈

April and Chicky are definitely besties—and apparently best friends have sleepovers, too. 🥹 Nothing sweeter than finding these two snuggled up together.

Sir Reginald Thornbird III is ready to start his shift as our new security guard. Unfortunately, he seems to think his job is less about guarding the gate and more about making sure everyone who visits feels welcome. 😂

I did tell him we’re a welcoming and inclusive sanctuary… I just didn’t realize he’d take his customer service duties quite so seriously. 🦃♥️

DID YOU KNOW...?

You cannot feed raw lima beans to ducks because they contain cyanogenic glycosides (especially linamarin). When the bean is chewed and digested, these compounds can release hydrogen cyanide. 😳 Who knew? I think I'll pass on Lima beans all together!!!!!
