Please join us in giving a warm welcome to our newest veterinarian, Dr. Savannah Smith.

Dr. Savannah Smith is originally from Laurel, MS. She graduated from Northeast Jones High School in 2017. She attended William Carey University where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology. She then earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2026.

Dr. Savannah has a particular interest in wellness, preventive care, and nutrition. She also has an interest in physical therapy and hopes to explore this more.

Dr. Savannah currently resides in Laurel with family and her three rescue dogs. When she is not working, she enjoys reading, spending time with her family, friends and pets, and being outdoors or camping.

We are so excited to have her join our team and look forward to the compassionate care and dedication she will bring to our patients, clients, and community. 🐾✨

🐾✨What an incredible day for HHPA and the animals we serve!

We began today's adoption event with 22 dogs and cats searching for loving homes, and thanks to the overwhelming support of our community, 12–13 of those pets found their forever families. Every adoption represents a new beginning, and we couldn't be more grateful for everyone who came out, shared our mission, volunteered, donated, and helped make a difference.

⏰For those wonderful pets still waiting for their perfect match, don't worry—their journey isn't over. The remaining animals will be joining us at 📍Bayfest in Bay Springs, MS, where they'll have another opportunity to find the loving homes they deserve.
