Please bear with us during this difficult time. Melanie Shows Kallina, the primary administrator of this page, passed away on Monday, September 4. While we do intend to get this page up and running again, we ask your understanding while we regroup our own lives following Hurricane Harvey and grieve over the loss of our dear friend and beloved member of our rescue community. We ask for prayers of comfort for Mel's family.

Big shout out to our awesome impound staff in Bay City! They were given a short time to get all animals out safe before work started or those left would have to be euthanized. With the help of our amazing rescue community, staff, volunteers and transport team all are safe!

'There are a lot of times in an impound that employees fight back tears.
Yesterday was one of those days, but in a very different kind of way - because those tears that hung out in the back of our eyes had nothing to do with sadness or regret or raging anger.
The source of yesterday's tears came from joy. From wonderment. From gratitude.
Actually, you guys are the reason those sparkly little things kept welling up in the back of our eyes. Because you guys emptied our impound.
You accepted our dogs and our cats into your rescues; you networked our animals; you transported animals from the animal impound to their destinations. Some of you prayed, or sent positive vibes our way.
Not one animal was killed: Every dog and every cat left here through the Good Door.'

This beautiful girl needs help fast. She is facing two big problems, she is expecting and our cat room is full. We believe she is a young female. She also gets along well with other. This sweet mamma cat loves attention purring and rubbing back and forth on your legs. If you can her please contact us ASAP.

RESCUED!

Pansy is a quite little lady. She kinda stays to herself. She does not mind the others just chooses to stick to herself. Pansy was an owner turn in. Her owners had moved and left her behind giving Animal Control little to no information about her. We have guessed Pansy to be about 3 years old and weighs 32 pounds. She looks like she may be a spaniel mix. If you can help her please contact us ASAP. Our tiny impound is full.
