Torie Julien

To our darling little Torie, we adopted and gave you a good home. Mom, Dad, ad everyone really loved you. Everyone misses you. You used to dance everyday and some days I would dress you up. I hope you are with your dad and sisters and that they are taking good care of you. Love, Momma & Daddy

It's always nice to visit with past families we have cared for and hear about their experience. Today we talked with Brent who showed us this very special pendant and necklace he created. The pendant contains cremated remains of his cat Kya, along with pieces of amethyst. The necklace is made up of 25 years of guitar string ends which he saved. Thanks for letting us share this special piece Brent!

Oakley Thomas Majeski

“Oaks” • “Bubs” • “Oakerton”

August 15, 2017 – May 17, 2026

Oakley was never “just a dog.” He was the kind of soul that changes a person forever. The kind of love that only comes once in a lifetime if you’re lucky enough to experience it.

Oakley was adopted from the Midland Humane Society on April 16, 2018. Ironically, when we first arrived, we weren’t even there to see him. There wasn’t much information available because he had just recently been returned after only being adopted a couple days prior. What a heartbreaking and silly mistake that turned out to be for whoever let him go, because they missed out on one of the greatest dogs imaginable.

I can still picture the exact moment we first saw him. Sitting quietly behind the divider with his big ears standing straight up, just watching us. His mama Beth took him outside first to walk him and see what he was like, and from that moment on, it was love at first sight.

And while he eventually grew into the sweetest soul, he was definitely a little stinker in his younger years. There was always some new adventure, mess, or chaos with Oakley — but somehow those moments became some of the most loved memories too.

From the very beginning, Oakley brought life, comfort, laughter, and unconditional love into every room he walked into. He was gentle, loyal, goofy, protective, stubborn at times, and deeply connected to the people and animals he loved most. His favorite things were being close to his family, meeting our elderly neighbor at the fence for daily treats and pets, going for walks with his Mama Beth, tug of war around 7PM every day, cuddling on the couch, going for rides, and simply being wherever his people were.

To know Oakley was to understand what unconditional love truly looked like. He loved with his whole heart every single day, never asking for anything except love, comfort, and togetherness in return.

Oakley shared a beautiful bond with his sister Kova, who was his constant companion, best friend, and sidekick through half of his life. Their connection was something special — the kind only animals truly understand.

In 2023, Oakley underwent a surgery that gave us more precious time with him. Our family will never be able to fully express our gratitude to everyone who donated, supported, prayed, and helped us through that time. Because of your kindness, love, and generosity, we were blessed with nearly three more beautiful years together with our boy — something we will forever be thankful for.

In his final chapter, Oakley faced Congestive Heart Failure and Dilated Cardiomyopathy with the same quiet strength and loving spirit he carried throughout his entire life. Even while his body struggled, the part of him that mattered most — his heart and soul — never stopped loving the people around him.

On May 17, 2026, at 1:15PM, Oakley passed away peacefully at home on his favorite couch surrounded by his Mama Beth, Mama Kristin, and his beloved Mimi Janice. After a rapid decline from CHF and DCM, his family made the heartbreaking but selfless decision to help him pass peacefully through Sweet Rock in-home hospice care so he would never have to experience fear, panic, or suffering. Dr. Benson was amazing to Oakley. He left this world wrapped in love, comfort, dignity, and safety exactly as he deserved. Oakley Thomas will be cremated at Saginaw Valley Pet Cremations in Bay City.

One of the greatest gifts Oakley gave his family was teaching them how deep love can truly go. And one of the greatest heartbreaks will be learning how to live in a world without him physically beside them.

In addition to his family, Oakley leaves behind his cherished Mama Beth, Mama Kristin, fur sister Kova Jean, and his fur cat sisters Luna and Bella. He was preceded in death by his fur sister, Syn.

Some dogs leave paw prints on your heart.

Oakley became part of the soul of the people who loved him. You smiled with your eyes, laughed with your tail, and loved with your entire heart.

You were our favorite hello and our hardest goodbye.

Forever loved. Forever missed. Forever family.

We miss you, Bubbas. 🐾💙
