This June 27th, ARF, Last Chance, We Care, Fabucats, WAGS, along with the local Wayne Co Animal Management team are teaming up to help keep local pets safe with a FREE Microchipping Event! While there, Animal Control will also be handing out free pet food for families in need!

Why microchip your pet?

🐶🏃 Dogs slip out of collars.
🐱🚪 Cats sneak through open doors.
🌪️ Storms, fireworks, and accidents can cause even the most loyal pets to become lost.

A microchip is a permanent form of identification that greatly increases the chances of a lost pet being reunited with their family. Unlike collars and tags, a microchip can't fall off, break, or be removed. It takes only seconds to implant and can make all the difference if your pet ever goes missing.

Important:
✔️ Dogs must be on a secure leash.
✔️ Cats must be in a carrier.
✔️ Please help us keep everyone safe by ensuring pets are properly restrained when arriving and leaving the event.

This rainy day is all fun and games… for now anyways until they realize a bath is coming up next 😅

(The big babies have loved the rain and mud, most of the littles have preferred to stay on the inside for today👑😂)

I have had several people reach out to me in regards of pet supply donations.

We have multiple contacts who are housing pets that have been evacuated that are in need and would greatly appreciate any help and relief offered.

Anything donated and dropped off here I will personally deliver

*Current needs*
Dog food (wet and dry)
Cat food (wet and dry)
Blankets/towels
Puppy pads
Clorox wipes
Bowls

Please continue to keep every family that has been affected by this fire in your prayers as they navigate through this tragedy.

We will have a few more open kennels today for anyone needing assistance in placing their dogs

We also have several old kennels that we no longer use that have been sitting out if anyone needs those to use if you’re able to keep your pets with you. Anyone in need is more than welcome to get those

Nine ✨ FREE ✨ male dog neuter spots available.

⚠️ Spots are limited to owned male dogs ONLY.
*This means no animal that is legally owned by a rescue.
⚠️ Limited to one per household.

We were very fortunate to receive a grant from the Jason Heigl Foundation to offer free surgeries to a limited number of pets in our community. (More about this event to come!) The grant will also cover rabies vaccines and microchips, so these will be at no cost to you.

At this time we are prioritizing requests from those receiving some form of government assistance. Must be willing to provide proof of SNAP benefits, Medicare/Medicaid, SSI, or section 8 housing in order to qualify.

Dog Requirements 👇
• Between 4 months and 4-5 years of age
• Weigh between 10 and 45lbs
• No toy, giant or severe brachycephalic breeds (ie Great Dane, Pyrenees, French/English Bulldog, Pug, Boston Terrier, etc) If you're unsure whether or not your pet falls into one of these categories please don't hesitate to ask.
• BOTH testicles need to be descended
(aka 'can you feel both testicles in the sack')

This event will be hosted in Richmond Hill on January 31st.
Drop off will be at 8am, pickup will be that same afternoon.
Specific details will be discussed.
