Friends, we have a project taking place in the CWBP starting this week! The old shade structure, which has been rotting and falling apart, is coming down and a new one will be constructed in its place! Deconstruction starts tomorrow, Tuesday, September 9th. We will keep you updated, but please know that work will be taking place on and off inside the fenced-in area. The trails are always open for on-leash walking in the event your dog is not fond of strangers, loud noises, and similar construction-related work.

A BIG thank you to the students from Calhoun Christian School who volunteered their time with us earlier this week. The students worked hard on a gloomy, wet day to tidy up our dog park and trails. We appreciate you!

Attention Bark Park friends! It has been brought to our attention that there is an area with broken glass on the trails that accompany our bark park. Please use caution and pay attention to the path. It's thankfully a concentrated area and not a large area. We hope to have it cleared by late tomorrow morning.

There is a large tree down blocking the Bark Park drive. It will take us some time to get it cleared. In the meantime you can park in the main shelter parking lot. Please remember to leash your dogs until they are inside the fenced in area!

A big thank you to the anonymous young man who collected empty bottles and cans to raise $471 for the available companions in our care. Time and time again we see the young people in our community show up for these animals. Whether it's donation drives for the everyday supplies we need, raising funds like this young man, or even volunteering their time on tidying our grounds, Curtis Whitaker Bark Park, or trails. The mom of this young man, in particular, says he picks a non-profit or cause each year to raise funds for. We appreciate you all!
