I dont believe i showed anyone on this page but as a Christmas gift I got myself a pony. This little lady is cherry. She is 1.9 years old. She will be my helper around the farm once she is old enough once she is 3 we can start training her to a driving harness so at 4 years old we can get her use to a cart attached to that harness and at 5 start working on getting her use to weight on that cart but we will start small on the weight so she can build up the muscle needed to pull someone my weight or objects I needed carted around the yard. But right now we are just working on our basics and getting use to eachother. She is incredibly smart and so far adjusting well to all the densitizing we are working with. And of course as our name suggests I had to get her a teal coat for these below zero temp days lol.

Been a absolutely wild winter over here but everyone is doing great. We also have babies that are growing out great and all our other animals are doing fantastic. Here is our current litter of continental giants we are growing out. 8 babies total. All very silly and love to run around.

No better feeling than palpating does and finding they kept their babies and will be due soon! Out of the 4 does bred 1 reabsorbed her babies ( expected as it is her first breeding) the other 3 are expecting kits on the 18th! Tyre, MissDemeanor, and Hot peppers did great with their breedings. Hot peppers and MissDemeanor are both first timers so fingers are crossed we end up with good first time mommies. Netherland dwarfs will be purebred babies Tyre bred to Criminal and MissDemeanor bred to Pharis. We had a accident our first night in the new house and a stray cat scared our bunnies causing our American chin buck to freak out and break his back resulting in his needing to be put to sleep. So Hot Peppers is expecting American chinX Silverfox crosses for meat and continuation into our meat line project. I will be getting a new buck for American chin breedings but the breeder lives about 2hr and 30minutes from us currently. So we are trying to find a day/time that works with both of us to meet up and get a new buck from her but right now as the weather continues to change I dont want to stress out a bunny especially since I dont have a quarantine area set up. Even though I know this breeder is good we always quarantine to be safe. I rather have
1 bunny go down vs 30.

Been a long week last week but got most of the animals ready for winter weather. Still have more to do but got the chicken coop completely insulated with old feed bags stuffed with straw and the run lined with feed bags to cut out the wind. Pigeon have gotten straw on their floors to help keep their toes warm and bags stapled around their cages and roofs. While quail got bags covering their cage and a tote with some straw for them to lay in they absolutely love that tote and hardly ever leave it. And duck cage has been covered with only the front slightly open for airflow. Again these are just temporary set ups as we go into winter their housing will change in the spring/summer when the weather is nice again. But its too late in the year right now to build the new barns, runs, and coops i rather have the birds and bunnies safe for winter vs trying to subject them to the cold in buildings and runs we were unable to complete before snow hits. Ive been planning how are new set up will look and how to build it for awhile now we are super excited to start it but its way too windy, rainy, and cold right now to get anything started without potentially destroying the things we are intending to make. But for now the animals are staying warm and enjoying having more of their equipment back in a somewhat familiar way. Its also taking me a bit longer to get through all the unpacking and getting things put away in their proper place since my kids came home sick and passed on their cooties lol. My immune system is junk so it takes me longer to fight off a normal cold or illness but im pushing through to make sure everyone has what they need daily and more.

Apparently my last post didnt upload lol. But here is a summary we are back! Took forever to move and get things set up at the new house. We made lots of changes and still have more to come. But slowly we will be getting back to posting on this page as soon as we have internet and things going a little more smoothly with the new house. Animals are all doing good and enjoying seeing me every single second of the day and I am very happy to walk outside and see my animals again. Small photo dump of the animals these past few months and some are more recent photos we will be posting more often again but wont be a everyday thing since we are still getting everything unpacked and getting use to our new home and routines. We should have some fall litters coming soon pending rabbits took with their breedings if not we will try again in the spring for now though most of the animals are on a winter break as we start to approach cold weather.

Our special friends in the brooder broad breasted white turkeys meet gravy and Mash Potatoes! These 2 lovely birds are so much fun to watch and I love how personable they are. Gravy is very quiet and loves snuggles. Mash Potatoes is very loud and would much rather play catch the feather. Excited to watch these little ones grow and watch the silly antics that drew me in to wanting a turkey.
