Mulberry Rabbitry Mulberry Rabbitry focuses on the French angora rabbit breed. These charming animals produce wool, fertilizer, food, and fun.

Mulberry Rabbitry represents my effort to learn animal husbandry. I've selected the French angora breed of rabbits. Their primary purpose is to produce fertilizer for my organic gardening. Second, their wool will supply a source of fiber for me to use or sell. I'm also planning to mate by doe and buck and produce a litter of these wool rabbits to sell as pets or homestead livestock. ora rabbit is considered a dual purpose breed because it produces a luxurious and warm wool and the animals can be harvested for meat. They are medium large rabbits ranging from 6 to 10 pounds. I consider learning to care for them to be a pleasure but also an exercise in self reliance.

I have 4 young French Angora bucks with pedigrees located in Battle Creek, Michigan. I have 3 ruby eyed whites and a chestnut agouti. They were born in May. The produce a luxurious soft wool. People planning to attend the Michigan Fiber Festival https://www.facebook.com/MichiganFiberFestival at the Allegan County Fairgrounds Aug. 18 to 22 might be interested in adding a wool rabbit to their hobby lifestyle. On top of producing wool, they are a great source of fertilizer for organic gardening and pleasant to have around. Quiet and discreet way to add a homestead helping animal on small acreage or city lots. Because I'm in Southern Michigan, I could be a convenient source of a new French angora for you. Here are some pictures of my young bucks. My photography skills don't do them justice.
