Make a difference in somebunny's life - adopt a rescued rabbit! MHRR is a group of volunteers and foster homes in and around the Baton Rouge, Louisiana area.

Rabbits, guinea pigs, and other small critters come from animal control agencies, are strays, dumps at pet stores or vet clinics, or are surrendered by individuals/families who can no longer care for their pets. We also visit classrooms and scout meetings to teach little ones about rabbit care when we are able. We strive to be of service to our community by offering boarding, nail trims, and answe

ring husbandry and behavior questions. Since 2004, we have saved and re-homed over 2,000 rabbits and small animals! We are a 501(c)3 organization and donations are tax deductible.

Thank you to everyone who came out to Boba & Bunnies at .partea today!! We had so much fun meeting old friends and making new ones. We also raised a little money for the bunnies to put towards their new house! Be sure to tag us if you have any photos from today! And THANK YOU to Boba ParTea for always being a wonderful host!

Check out these cutie patooties, Crème and Cupcake!! If you’ve been wanting to adopt a hamster, we have 8 that are ready for adoption! They were born earlier this year, all part of an accidental litter that needs help finding thejr furever home!

If adopters do not a big enough habitat (minimum requirement for these active cuties is 800 square feet of floor space) for an additional cost, we do sell bin habitats complete with supplies upon adoption.

If the Easter Bunny brought you a real bunny this morning, head over to our website to brush up on rabbit care! The link below is the best starting point, and then if you need help with more topics such as litter box training or bunny-proofing the area, there are articles just for those topics too.
Be sure to start saving into a medical fund for spay/neuter at least (even without other bunnies around, you'll probably both be happier with their altered behavior!) and for other medical care or emergencies.

Easter Rabbit season is upon us, and every year thousands of rabbits are purchased and later surrendered or abandoned (And no, we are not ready for that 😅). Rabbits live 8-10 years, require an exotic vet, and their primary diet should be hay, Timothy hay or orchard grass to be specific. They are meant to run around and explore, not be stuck in a teeny tiny cage 🐇

Not all rabbits will get along with kids, and getting a “baby rabbit” absolutely does not guarantee they will “grow up with” and “for sure” get along with kids - Trust us, we’ve seen a lot of surrender requests and personality types over our 20 years in existence.

People often want rabbits that “don’t bite” and we always have to remind that any animal with teeth is perfectly capable of biting.

Rabbits p**p 200-300 times a day, and while they can be litterbox trained things still need to be cleaned and stray p**ps happen (and hay). Please gift chocolate or plush bunnies this Easter season and encourage others to do the same 🐰
