Meet the Pet Sitter!!

Each week, I will feature one of our pet sitters so you get to know who is taking care of your fur babies!

This week is ALAINA! She has been working for the company for almost two years.

"Growing up, my grandparents had tons of animals. I've been around animals my whole life and includes cats, dogs, horses, chickens, a donkey, rabbits etc. I took interest in the donkey names Charlie Brown. From that day on, that was MY donkey! I begged my mom for a small animal that could be in the house, so I got my first cat at 5 years old and named her Angel. I am a HUGE cat person, but I still have love for all other animals. However, I leave the lizards and slimy creatures to my wonderful colleagues. I'm a proud cat parent and show them off every chance I get and cannot imagine life without them.

I'm a foodie and I love to travel when possible. I'm currently a nursing student, so if I'm not studying or taking care of your precious fur babies, I am snuggled in bed with mine! I hope to cuddle with your babies soon!"

A common question we get is what kind of services do we provide exactly? Here is a list of services we provide.

1) Daily Dog Walking/Let out visit - 30 min, 45 min, and 60 min
2) Pet Sitting Visit - 30 min, 45 min, and 60 min
3) Puppy Breaks
4) Medicine Visits
5) Senior Pet Visits
6) House Check - for when you are out of town and you just want someone to check your house, get you mail, water plants, etc.
7) Other - if you do not see the type of service you are looking for, message us and we can tailor services to your needs!

Ever wondered how our business works? We use this wonderful app called Pet Sit Click where clients request services, pay their invoices, access their pet profiles and provide detailed instructions for their pets, and receive visit emails with a summary of how the visit went and a picture of their pets!

It's HOT!! There are a lot of pet owners we serve that keep their pets outside so here are some tips to keeping those pets cool in the summer time:
1) Provide protection from the heat/sun by using tree shade or tarps because they do not obstruct airflow like doghouses;
2) Have plenty of fresh, cold water for them to drink. Add ice when possible;
3) Provide shade with porches and overhangs;
4) Purchase a raised bed to prevent overheating from laying on the sun-soaked ground;
5) Use kiddie pools!

Hello from Paw Buddies! As the 4th of July quickly approaches us, here are some tips if you have a dog that may not appreciate fireworks as much as us!
1) Create a sense of calmness and compete with the noise by turning up the tv/radio
2) Place a cotton ball in their ears (but don't forget to take them out!)
3) Plan a longer walk or extra play time during the day so they are more tired at night.
4) Provide a safe and familiar environment for them to sleep (i.e. crate, bedroom with their favorite bed or blanket)
5) Try a calming product.

Greetings! I wanted to let everyone know we are going through some exciting changes. Come June 1, Snagglefoot, the franchise will no longer be in operation but I will continue to independently operate as Paw Buddies of Baton Rouge! We will still offer the same quality services with the same great employees your pets love and adore. The tick that transmits the Lyme agent is active at different times of the year in different regions. As you move further south, for example, adult ticks are most active in winter. This is why year-round protection is critical.- Use reliable tick-preventive products
- Talk with your veterinarian to decide whether to vaccinate your dog against Lyme disease
- When possible, avoid areas where ticks might be found
- Check for ticks on both yourself and your animals once indoors
