Big Congrats to my newest group of graduates from Diamond in the Ruff Dog Obedience Training! Such a fun group of dogs and owners. I loved working with each one of you and watching your dogs improve each week. What a difference from Week 1!! I'm so proud of you for taking the time to become the Pack Leader your dog deserves. Please keep up the great work you've done with your pet! He/She is depending on you to be a calm, confident Alpha Dog so they can trust that you have everything under control. This is what makes them feel safe and secure.

A special shoutout to the Recall Race Winners. The last race was too close to call, so we ended up having two 1st Place winners.
1st Place (tie) Morley Diment and "Urza" (Mini Australian Shepherd)
1st Place (tie) Lainey & Micah Lipsmeyer and "Kevin Bacon" (supermutt)
Way to go!!! Your pups were fantastic with the Stay and Coming When Called.

Thanks for allowing me to help you find the Diamond in your Ruff and making it shine brightly!!!

Congrats to my newest group of graduates from Diamond in the Ruff Dog Obedience Training!! What a fun group of dogs and owners to work with. I just love seeing the progress the dogs made each week. I'm proud of all the work the owners put into teaching their dogs commands - but also learning the importance of becoming their Pack Leader!! Dogs crave an Alpha dog who provides direction and order within their pack (family), so a big part of my job is teaching the owners exactly how to do that. It's so evident that they are becoming the Pack Leader when the dog becomes a happy, obedient pet. I'm so very proud of you for doing that for your dog!!

Big Shoutout to the Recall Race Winners:
1st Place: Beau Bacas & Caitlyn Sadler with "Krewe" (Australian Shepherd Mix)
2nd Place: Patrick Pace with "Ziggy" (Cavalier King Charles Spaniel)
WooooHoooo!! Way to Go, guys!!!

I hope to see all of you again, either in a refresher course to keep fine-tuning and reinforcing the commands -or - in my Advanced Class in the Spring of 2027! The important thing is that you never stop training your pup!!

Just a reminder that fireworks are illegal in EBR parish. Nothing wrong with wanting to shoot fireworks for the 4th, but please do so outside of the parish in areas where it’s permitted!

Hey All: Well, I had to take off for 6 months due to having two surgeries and subsequent recoveries, but I am back training again!! I can't tell you how much I missed working with you and your pets. Thank you for the outpouring of love, concern, cards, emails, FB messages and especially your prayers! It meant the world to me!!

I'm scheduling private lessons right now and will let you know when a date is set for group classes. Please go to my website if you would like to set up a lesson: diamondintheruffbr.com.

It's very hot outside so be sure to keep your pets inside, especially during the daytime. Remember to walk them either early morning or late evening - and keep them on the grass when you're walking! The concrete and asphalt is entirely too hot for them to be on during our summer months (May - Sept). We need to always keep our fur babies safe!!
