This week's may serve as an inspiration for some of those emergency fosters out there!

Here’s a pupdate on Wanda! Her mom says "She was an emergency foster back in August that I decided to go ahead and adopt. I love her so much and am so glad I decided to adopt her. I hope she inspires someone to adopt from y’all. The joy of giving a shelter dog a forever home is incomparable."

If you are interested in adopting or continuing to foster your emergency foster please email [email protected]!

It's my dudes!😎🐱

Meet Bullitt❤
Bullitt came into our care with his sister Belle (our previous feature on 12/20) at the beginning of December. Like Belle, Bullitt is also visually impaired, front-declawed, oversized, and 13-years-old. He is a sweet boy who loves snacking on wet food and taking long naps in his hidey-hole. He is very friendly and loves to be pet!

Bullitt is available for adoption at the shelter, and so is his sister Belle now that she has come back from emergency foster. Interested in Bullitt or Belle? Come by the shelter to meet them! We are open until 6 pm today.

Happy Holidays! Here's a very special, heartwarming !

Recently Daisy entered our care as a stray. Thanks to her microchip, we were able to get her back home to her mom after she had been gone for 10 YEARS!!

Daisy had gotten separated from her family after a break-in, and her family thought they'd never see her again. Thankfully now, 10 years later, Daisy is back home with her mom who traveled across several states to reclaim her!❤

Happy ! Meet Tiana and Lewis, a bonded pair❤

Here's what their foster family says about them:
"Twice the fun, twice the love! Are you looking for a bonded brother-sister pair? Meet Lewis and Tiana. Lewis and Tiana joined our foster care at 1 week of age and have been with us since May 25th, 2022. They are now junior cats and are as sweet as can be. Tiana’s nickname is “Forever Kitty” because she is so petite. Both are calm, social and love to sit on the sofa with their person. They entertain each other well yet will never turn down a cat toy or a good game of laser tag. Lewis and Tiana are currently in a multicat household but would appreciate being the only spoiled cats in the house. Their sweet, gentle personalities, together with their small stature, could be taken advantage of by another more dominant cat. Lewis and Tiana seem to be comfortable around calm dogs but do not like to be chased. They are fully vetted, spayed/neutered, microchipped, and litter box trained. If you are looking for two bundles of joy, why not submit an adoption application?"

Interested in adopting Tiana and Lewis? Email [email protected]!

We need YOUR help!

December 26 and 27 Companion Animal Alliance will be without power due to a scheduled electrical outage on the LSU campus. The shelter will not have power for 36 hours over these three days. We need to get as many animals out of the shelter as possible during this time. To do so, we are asking members of the Baton Rouge community to temporarily emergency-foster these animals for the duration of this outage.

Emergency fosters can take an animal into their care as early as Tuesday, December 19 or as late as Saturday, December 23. CAA will be closed on Christmas Day and the 2 days following (Dec. 26-27) due to the scheduled power outage. Emergency fosters must keep the animal in their care December 25-28 and schedule an appointment on our website to return the animal once the power is restored. There are no requirements to be completed prior to choosing an emergency-foster animal. Emergency fosters must be over 18 and provide valid proof of identification.

Any questions regarding emergency-fostering can be directed to our Foster Program Manager [email protected] or our Programs Director [email protected].

Any questions regarding media coverage can be directed to our Communications Manager [email protected].

Happy , this week's feature is Supervisor Buttercup!🐱❤

Supervisor Buttercup is a 2-year-old long and lanky boy. He is very sweet and super playful! He is a hard worker and can be found productively sitting on your paperwork or trying to write with your pen (pictured). He works hard and plays even harder, so he may do best with an experienced cat owner and/or a home without small children.

Supervisor Buttercup is available for adoption and can be seen here at the shelter in our catio! Thanks to BISSELL Pet Foundation's campaign, Supervisor Buttercup's adoption fee will be waived until Sunday!
