Companion Animal Alliance Companion Animal Alliance serves as the only open-intake shelter in East Baton Rouge Parish. We'd love to help you find your perfect match!

CAA is ready to help individuals who are looking to reclaim lost pets or adopt a new pet. Visit our Adopt-A-Pet page to browse our available pets: https://www.adoptapet.com/adoption_rescue/85301-companion-animal-alliance-baton-rouge-louisiana

We also provide counseling services for individuals interested in giving up their pets. We do ask that individuals consider other options before surrendering their pets to the shelter, such as working with a trainer to resolve behavior issues or asking friends and family for help. Pets are a lifelong commitment and depend of us to ensure they are happy, healthy and loved.

Tennis balls, big adventures, and climbing playground slides? Ruby is ready for ALL of it! 🎾

Meet Ruby, a smart, playful girl who believes life is better when there's something new to explore!

This adventurous sweetheart loves collecting sticks, learning new tricks, and heading out on walks to see what the world has to offer. She's even been known to climb slides with her favorite person!

Ruby is incredibly intelligent and eager to please. She knows her off-leash recall, is kennel-trained, and loves putting her brain to work. But her favorite thing? Spending time with the people she loves.

Once Ruby builds a bond with you, get ready for one devoted shadow! She's loyal, affectionate, and always happy to trade adventure time for cuddles. ❤️

Ruby can feel anxious when left alone or meeting unfamiliar dogs, so she'll thrive with a confident, patient adopter who can help her feel secure while keeping her mind and body active.

Ruby isn't just looking for a home. She's looking for her favorite adventure partner! 💕

The faces behind CAA got a little spooky! 🎃👻

We had the best time at our staff Halloween party! From all the creative costumes to plenty of laughs, it was so much fun getting everyone together to celebrate.

These are some of the people who spend their days caring for the animals at our shelter, and we love getting to show you a different side of our CAA crew! Turns out, we're pretty good at dressing up, too. 😂

Rocco may be a senior, but the sound of his leash still makes him feel like a puppy!

Meet Rocco, a sweet older gentleman who's mastered the art of enjoying life's simple pleasures.

Most days, you'll find him snoozing in a cozy spot, soaking up affection, or quietly keeping his favorite people company. But the second he hears someone grab his harness and leash? He's on his feet and ready to go! 😂💕

Rocco is fully house-trained, listens wonderfully, and gets along beautifully with other dogs and cats. He's the kind of easygoing companion who fits right into your daily routine without asking for much in return.

A comfortable place to nap, a few walks to explore the neighborhood, and someone to love? That's Rocco's idea of a perfect life. ❤️

Rocco has spent years learning how to be a wonderful companion. Now he's ready to spend his golden years being someone's very best friend.

Meet Leia, a 1-year-old girl who isn't afraid to let you know when she'd like a little company!

Leia has been known to meow for attention, rub against her kennel door, and happily accept pets when someone stops to say hello. She's even comfortable being picked up! 🥹

She's a sweet, friendly girl who appreciates a gentle approach, especially around loud noises. She's also litter box trained!

Argos is 3 months old, ridiculously cute, and has absolutely NO idea how adorable he is. 🐩💙

Meet Argos, a Poodle puppy who's got all the wiggles, playful energy, and sweetness you could ask for!

This little guy is very much in his puppy era! He's curious, full of excitement, and always happy to soak up some attention. Between the happy tail wags, sweet kisses, and occasional belly-up moments, Argos has already figured out how to make people smile.

He's still got plenty of growing and learning ahead of him, and we'd love for him to experience it all with a family of his own!
