This dog was found wandering outside of the woods down Camp Takodah Rd about a mile away from Camp Takodah in Floral. If this is your baby and you are missing her please contact the shelter at (870) 262 9568 during business hours. Must have proof of ownership.

Slinky came back for the win in our We**ie dog race (for the SECOND year in a row😏) AND our costume contest!!

Ace won second place in our race today (also for a SECOND year in a row). LOVE seeing these familiar faces!!!

And Eli Manning won our 3rd place this year!!

Highlights from last year's BITP!!

TODAY 10 am to 2 pm at our very own Lyon College, Bark In The Park is back and better than ever!!

This event will not only help support our non-profit, but also provide great family fun for our community!!

Local businesses will be there with their goods, games and activities for everyone (Yes, including our furry friends😉), and concessions!

And 10-2 you say???
Well that means you can plan to stay for lunch and not have to leave the festivities! Because you do NOT want to miss out!!

We**ie dog race? A must see every year!

Hello everyone!!

We’re excited to invite you to Bark in the Park this Saturday at Lyon College from 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM 🐾 It’s shaping up to be a fun, laid-back day for both you and your pups, and we’d love to see a great turnout from the community!!!

Here’s what we’ve got planned:

11:00 AM – Annual We**ie Dog Race
Cheer on some very determined (and very short-legged) racers as they compete for glory!

12:00 PM – Amateur Dog Show
Categories include:
• Best Costume
• Best Trick

🏆Prizes🏆
Awards will be given for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in both the we**ie dog race and the dog show.

Registration
There will be a sign-up booth on site, so be sure to stop by early to register your dog for any events.

🎨 Caricature Portraits (11:00 AM – 1:00 PM)
Get a fun portrait of your pet (or you and your pet!) for a donation. This booth tends to fill up quickly, so we recommend heading there early if you're interested!!!

🐾Important Reminders🐾
• All dogs must be vaccinated
• Dogs must be leashed at all times during the event

Whether you're entering your dog or just coming to hang out, it should be a great afternoon!! Bring your friends, your family, and your furry companions. We hope to see you there!

All proceeds from the event go directly toward supporting our ongoing efforts at the Humane Society of Independence County, helping us continue to care for and find homes for animals in our community!!
