I want to thank all the kind words that I am receiving from my clients, friends, and the community through this time with Gus's adventure. I am so glad that Gus is home safe and doing well.
The night before Gus stayed in the grooming facility and was doing fine. Around 8 am the next morning he was placed in an outside kennel to potty and do his business. Around 8:30 am we noticed Gus was not there. Checking his outside Kennel noticed he had pulled and bent the bottom of the gate with his teeth and was able to get his head and body out. This is a factory built kennel that we have safely kenneled many large dogs before. Immediately posted on Facebook and begin searching the neighborhood for him. After a couple hours in an exhaled search we notified local Veterinaries, sheriff's department, and animal control. I didn't notify the client right away due to them being out of state on vacation. Client read the Facebook post and contact me a couple hours after Gus's excape. I assured the client I would do all in my ability to hind him. Later that evening in searching the community myself and my mother spoited Gus and was unable to coach him in. Reported to the client, she sent a friend and an undercover deputy and we searched for several hours in the evening looking and calling for Gus. The next day her husband came home and we meet with him for several hours riding around searching for Gus. We left articiles of clothing and food trying to attract Gus. Speaking back with the client she requested a refund of Gus care and that I continue to take care of her cat in her home until they returned. I immediately refunded Gus's care. The next morning my dad and I ran into her husband and others searching for Gus, talking to people, putting out fliers and leaving business cards hoping to find him. Over the time Gus had excaped we responded to a number of sighting reported we spent countless hours searching for Gus up until the day he was captured.
We are so glad Gus has been found is back home. We understand the heartfelt concerned we share for our pets. 💕🐾
