Bastrop Pet and Pal Parade

Just a reminder the Pet & Pal parade is a week from this Saturday, June 29th, the cutest parade ever! So get your patriotic thoughts together and dress up your favorite pet (we've had every kind of dog, cats, birds, ponies, llamas, iguanas, tortoises, ferrets...) bring them, we want to see them. Everyone must register and registration starts at 8:30 on the courthouse lawn on Pine Street & Water Street, then judging is at 9:15 am and the parade starts at 10-ish. The Honor Choir will lead the parade playing their kozus (not sure how to spell it but you know what I mean) and everyone will follow down Pine Street to Main Street turn right and go two blocks to Spring Street turn right and go to the empty lot next to the opera house for a reception and awards.
If you don't feel like dressing up and being in the parade, cheer them on by watching along the parade route. We hope to see you there Saturday, June 29th!

This year's PET & PAL PARADE is Saturday, June 29th...come join in the FUN in the cutest parade ever!! Registration starts at 8:30 on the courthouse lawn at Pine Street & Water Street downtown, everyone must register. Then judging in the various categories (starts at 9:15-ish) like MOST PATIOTIC, MOST UNUSUAL, MOST CREATIVE,BEST PET & PAL LOOK A LIKE, BEST PET & PAL GROUP AND BEST NON-MOTORIZED VEHICLE...all dressed up patriotically. It's so much fun. The parade starts at 10 am with the Honor Choir leading the parade and playing their kazoos, the parade goes down Pine Street to Main Street and turns right and goes two blocks and turn right on Spring Street and ends at the lot next to the Bastrop Opera House. If you don't want to be in the parade, come watch the parade and cheer them all on. In the past we've had every kind of dog or cat, ponies, llamas, tortoises, iguanas, ferrets, you name it we've probably had them in a parade. Get your creative patriotic groove on and join us!

SECRET SANTA DOG TOY EXCHANGE!!!!
This is super easy and so fun!!
Worst case scenario is that we make a dog happy by sending them a toy - what can be better than that?
I’m looking for dog owners interested in a holiday gift exchange. It doesn’t matter where you live in the U.S. - you are welcome to join! You have to buy one gift valued at least $10 and send it to your secret dog. (Hello Amazon!). Your dog will receive 6-36 gifts in return. And the great thing is you can keep them or donate them! A present will brighten their day (and the owners too). We could all use some happy mail.
