Zilker park. 🦋

This crazy city is moving around us all the time, including here at Zilker. I haven’t been able to bring my big packs here for about two years with how much it has grown. 🏙🐾🎈
But on a day like today, when there are just a few dogs with me and the park is quiet, I can slow down and still feel all the moments that were shared here in this park. Concerts, yoga practices, heartfelt cries, laying in the sun. ⛅️
Zilker has held space for many realizations, fears and thoughts of my own over the years. 💛

This park was a safe place to dream and manifest. It is a sacred piece of land that I was able to have so many special moments with my girl Whooky. 🐺
It’s where my business grew and shifted. And it will always have a piece of my heart. 💛

This girl amazes me. 💛
The year is almost over and I have not even processed the last two. So many things have gone in ways that I never expected. I certainly didn’t see myself watching 3 old dogs move thru the last few years of their lives.
The theme I am seeing with each of them is how unconditional they love.
Dogs are adaptable, positive, and caring. 🐾💓
The world is full of twisted lessons. People will let you down. Opportunities will come and go.
As soon as you think you have something figured out, things will change.
It is easy to get overwhelmed by all of that but the thing I am attempting to recognize, to move forward with is
To ground myself in the now. ✨

Today, Ruca and I stopped at a park to get away from the holiday pack. She opened her stocking and we rolled in the grass. She got a good brush out and had some treats. I just watched her enjoy herself thoroughly and I enjoyed each moment. I have known this dog since she was a puppy and she has been walking at my heels since her first few walks.
Today Ruca was alive and she was in the moment. 🤸‍♂️
We have so much to learn from these deserving animals. So much to learn.

Hello fellow dog lovers!
This is Ruca. She is 13 years old and needs a home she can retire to. Her previous owner is unable to keep her and I am reaching out to find a loving, attentive home that she can spend the last of her days.
Ruca suffers from separation anxiety and needs a home that has other dogs, she is calmed greatly by them.
She would also benefit from someone who enjoys spending time at home. 🥳
She is a wonderful dog and has no serious health problems despite her old age. Her eyesight and hearing have weakened but she is really an easy dog to take care of.
Still lots of loving in her big ol heart! ❤️💙 please help by sending this to anyone you think would be a good fit for Ruca. I am here for any questions, just ask.

I haven’t wanted to write this post.
The words just seem to fall short of how deeply this dog has touched my heart.
🐾❤️
I got Whooky when I was 14. I hadn’t even told my dad I had gotten a dog, I just showed up with her.
😉
I promised him that she would never be a bother, she would always be with me wherever I went.
And boy did she. ✨
We have been thru first loves and first, second and third heartbreaks. She has traveled with me to oceans and mountains and forests.
Whooky was by my side as I grew into a women and started to create my dreams. She shared in all my joy and she soaked up many of my tears with her sweet soft fur.
🙏🏼
She is my very best friend.
She is what feels like my daughter.
She is a whole half of my heart.
❤️
Last Thursday she died suddenly, she did not have a lasting illness. She was not in pain. It was quick, and I am thankful for that.
But goodness do I miss her.
🌈🦋
Whooky means dirty hippie and I am grateful that she made it to the farm where she could always be free. Raising goats and chasing chickens.
I trust that I will never stop seeing her secure the perimeter of the yard.
My protector. My mama. My angel eyes.

My long time best friend and employee, Emily Howard’s last day is today. When she started helping out 8 years ago, we had no idea how much the business would grow and develop.

She has been a vital part of that growth! Her bright light and encouraging manner has helped create a beautiful vision for this company’s future.

This year has taught me a lot of things, but one of the biggest, is to enjoy the little things. 🦋
The fact that I was able to work with my best friend for so many years is such a blessing, and I will always look back at these times with great joy.

I am sad to see her go, but I am beyond excited to see all she accomplishes!

The impact of the virus has hit my business hard, it has caused several plans to be set aside, not knowing when they will be picked back up again. However, I am committed to this dream. Finding ways to care for the family member that’s unconditional love and attention gets us and our families thru the toughest of times. 🐕 🐈 🐦 🦎
