1. The 3-Day Rule: Only keep thawed raw food in the refrigerator for up to three days to ensure peak freshness.

Memorial Day is more than a long weekend, cookouts, or a day off from work.
It is a day rooted in sacrifice.

Today, we remember the brave men and women who gave their lives defending this country and the freedoms we often take for granted. But we also honor the countless service members who came home carrying burdens that never truly leave them.

Many spent months or years away from their families in distant lands, missing birthdays, holidays, anniversaries, and precious moments that can never be replaced. Many returned with scars and wounds that the world can see — and many more carry wounds that remain invisible to everyone around them.

The cost of freedom is not only measured in lives lost, but in the lifelong sacrifices made by those willing to stand in harm’s way for others.

As a military family, this day is deeply personal for us. We understand that behind every flag flying proudly today are stories of courage, loss, resilience, heartbreak, and sacrifice.

So while you enjoy this day with family and friends, take a moment to truly reflect on why you have the freedom to do so. Hug your loved ones tighter. Be grateful for the simple moments. Speak with gratitude for those who gave everything — physically, emotionally, and spiritually — in service to this nation.
