Closing out a BUSY week with our second USDF recognized show of the season at Sorenson Equestrian Park. Lots of firsts at this show:
DonarZen GGF (coming 4 year old DonarWeiss x Rascalino), owned by Jennifer Colameco Fowler went to his first outdoor show and his first time at Training Level … of course it was freezing and raining for our first two days there! He had some baby moments but ultimately gained so much experience and confidence showing in the rain and handling the chaotic environment with a highlight of 70% at Training 3! So proud of this guy! He’s definitely going to be a horse for the future ! I’ve had such a blast bringing him along for Katrina Hiller Dressage and I’m excited to see what she accomplishes with him in the coming years ❤️
Chevalier Noir, owned by Barb Wagner, went down centerline at 4th level for the first time! 65% and 67.3%. I am sooooo proud of the horse he has become in the years that we have been working together. He’s a Friesian/Morgan cross with unusual conformation but he really tries his heart out and has been able to accomplish remarkable things - a few years ago he couldn’t canter on the Left Lead at all ! (Dressage is really for EVERY horse) …. I’m sad to be seeing him head home for the summer but I know Barb will continue his education in the best way ❤️
Hevlihn Howarth and her mare, Dutchess, came along for exposure and had a great first showing at Intro level with respectable scores in the 60’s. She “rescued” her from a kill-pen auction a few years ago and has worked incredibly hard to educate both Dutchess and herself. From feral to fancy 😎
Adding to the fun - Katie was sick this last week so I had the pleasure of playing stand in coach for Ressa Tracy-Maas McMenomy and Marghie Compton. It was fun to give Ressa some confidence at her first show riding a test with canter work and even more fun to help Marghie secure her highest score yet at Intermediare 1!
More video and pics to come ❤️
