We believe education is the heart of proper care for your pets and also for the conservation of endangered species around the world. We offer talks on many health and conservation issues concerning the animal kingdom and the health of our Earth.

Great news! This afternoon Amy and I took Werther, now Winston, to his family! He will have a fur sister, Zoe, who was also adopted from All Souls Connected A few years ago.

He is going to settle in nicely, I can tell. He’s such a gem.

I’m going to miss this little guy…rescue is hard. We quickly get attached but know it’s only temporary until they find their family.

Update: we may have potential adopter!

💔 Werther is sad. 😿 Over 900 people have looked at his adopt-a-pet page, and not one person has asked to adopt him.

He doesn’t understand why nobody wants him. 🥺

We estimate Werther is under 3 years old. He’s a sweet, curious orange boy who’s still a little nervous, but he loves pets, playing, and the idea of finding someone to call his own. 🧡

All Werther wants is someone to choose HIM. Could you be the one to turn his sad little face into a happy one?

We haven’t had any inquiries about this handsome boy. He is looking for his forever family. He is neutered, tested negative for FELV/FIV and is a sweet little guy. He will need adjustment times if course. He has lived a difficult life outside and is enjoying the comforts of indoor life . Meet Werther. 🧡 This beautiful orange boy has been waiting a long time for someone to realize that he doesn’t belong outside — he belongs in a home.

Werther first started showing up in my outdoor colony back in February 2026. I trapped him in March, got him fixed and vaccinated, and released him back outside. But it didn’t take long to realize that Werther probably wasn’t truly feral. We believe he was likely dumped.

He would hang around with two of the newer cats, but they often wandered off and left him on his own. I’ve wanted to bring him inside for quite some time, but unfortunately, that wasn’t an option with Hank, and I didn’t have a foster who could take him. So I did what I could — making sure he had food, water, and shelter.

Then yesterday morning, everything changed.

Werther was fine when I fed everyone at 6 AM. By 8 AM, Hank texted me that Werther was limping and wouldn’t put any weight on his back leg. Hank tried trapping him, but he wasn’t interested in cooperating. 😂 When I got home, I eventually managed to catch him myself during another cat-wrangling adventure.

Beth took him to the vet today. They didn’t find anything obviously wrong and believe it’s most likely a soft-tissue injury. He’s now on pain medication and hopefully just needs a few days to rest and heal.

And here’s the thing…

Werther is a really sweet boy. He doesn’t belong out there alone. He deserves a warm bed, a safe place to sleep, someone to love him, and a family who will never dump him or leave him wondering where he belongs again. ❤️

So maybe this is his chance.
