08/06/2026 Update I'm trying hard to get some kind of normal life again. We only have 6 more camping trips left for the 2026 season. As of today we only canceled 1 day of a trip. I need to get back to cutting up firewood and getting ready for the winter. I have not to date been able to get out there with the chainsaw. I'm still using a cane , next orthopedic doctor appointment is the 16th of September. Maybe I should go back to PT.

7/16/2026 update, I'm still having a hard time getting back to normal. But I'm not going to stop it from allowing me to do the things I want to do. Hopefully that you are enjoying your summer it be cold before you realized it.

6/22/2026 .... Knee update: Exrays show scar tissue is causing the pain. I have beat the infection. I return in three months for another check up. I can ride bikes, walk and do anything I can handle. Hopefully I can overcome the pain issues in time.
No reason to cancel any camping trips.

5/15/2026 Update on knee, I'm off iv antibiotics but still have to take 2 oral antibiotics a day. Been camping and riding our new ebikes. It's still tender and gets red but I'm hopeful that I'll recover from this without having to have v anymore surgery on it.

4/17/2026 surgery update.... 5 weeks of IV antibiotics done, should have my PICC line removed by next Thursday. The Infectious Disease Specialists doctor call and setup a appointment on Wednesday to see if I need to be off of or stay on antibiotics longer. I'm hoping that this is over. My arm can't take it any more.

4/2/2026 update..... staples are out, no more PT, 3 more weeks of IV antibiotics and hopefully that will be done with doctors for a while. Camping season starts 2 days after picc line comes out. Glad to say I'm healing up.
