WHO WANTS TO BE PART OF A LIFE-SAVING MISSION TO COMPLETELY EMPTY A RURAL SHELTER IN NEED??
Hi Angel Friends,
May we borrow just a minute of your time? We know you are having a busy weekend, but can you please take a look at the faces pictured below and hear their story? It will only take a minute. Each dog you see before you is confined to a rural, Georgia animal shelter RIGHT NOW. They are in a shelter that cares and really wants to help, but doesn’t have a lot of options available to them. The shelter is very small and very old. Besides one breed specific rescue group, this lonely little shelter gets NO outside help. Friends, the truth is, this little country shelter is underfunded, understaffed and overwhelmed. The shelter has ONE employee. The kind gentleman who works there also goes out on animal control calls, cleans cages, and cares for the animals the best he can. He is a one-man show. There is also one shelter advocate. She is a volunteer and has been known to take dogs home for the weekend so they could avoid having to euthanize them. She has also purchased vaccinations and deworming medication out of her own pocket. That's it, friends. Two people trying to save the lives of every single dog that winds up in this invisible shelter. They are two truly amazing people with hearts of gold, but the point remains...there are only TWO of them and they have next to nothing to work with.
So here is our plea to you, animal loving friends....
Angels Among Us Pet Rescue would like to pull off a miracle. We need to raise a minimum of $5,000-$10,000 to empty this shelter and provide each dog with vetting, spay/neuter and medical care. Sadly, several will likely have heartworms and need to be treated. That is very common in rural southern areas. We are calling this mission "Project Empty Shelter." That's right, NO DOG LEFT BEHIND. By rescuing every dog, the shelter will no longer face an immediate need to euthanize many highly adoptable pets due to a lack of space. Furthermore, the shelter will likely not fill up again for months!
This is where you come in, . Imagine how good you would feel knowing that you played a role in completely emptying a shelter and saving the life of every single dog trapped there! Imagine their joy as they jump into the transporter's car knowing their life has been spared. They will then be taken to a vet for much needed shots, deworming, spay/neuter surgery and heartworm testing. Any medical needs will be addressed at that time. Next, they will arrive in a foster home where they will be cared for until the magic happens...a home to call their very own! Can't you just see it happening? It makes you smile doesn't it? It makes your heart happy, right? Well, with your help, this is not just a vision. We can make this a reality. But we need YOU. We need your help right now. Any amount you can give that can open these bars, and put these animals in a car for a freedom ride to the land of happy ever after is desperately needed.
This is a very large mission and we are reaching out to you in hopes that you can help make it a hugely successful mission. Your donation will literally give these shelter dogs the precious gift of life.

They will also need foster homes as AAUPR does not maintain a facility.
