Your support transforms the lives of vulnerable pets like Bandit. For the FIFTH year in a row, a generous donor is doubling your impact by matching donations up to $40,000! If we reach our goal, we'll be raising $80,000 for the shelter animals. šŸ’™

Bandit’s story is one we’ll never forget. This sweet 8-year-old beagle was left in the care of family friends, only to be viciously attacked by their dog. Despite his obvious pain and serious wounds, no one sought help. Days later, when his original owners got him back, they made the heartbreaking decision not to treat his injuries either. They were planning to move—and Bandit wasn’t part of the plan. So they brought him to us.

His wounds were severe—deep, wide, and badly infected after being left untreated for too long. Our veterinarian recognized it was an emergency, and thanks to your support, we rushed him to a specialty clinic in Middleton. The road to healing was long and painful. Some of the wounds were able to be closed, but the largest required time, drainage, and intense daily care.

And through it all, Bandit remained gentle and trusting. He wanted nothing more than to be close to someone who cared. Thanks to generous donors like you, Bandit got that chance. He got the medical care he desperately needed—and eventually, a loving forever home.

This Giving Tuesday, your gift helps us say ā€œyesā€ to animals like Bandit when no one else will. Let’s make sure every pet who walks through our doors gets the second chance they deserve.

So proud of our staff today for going the extra mile!! These little kittens are safe only because our staff pulled out all the stops and did not give up in the face of a near impossibility.

A kind person brought these kittens to the shelter but they were loose in her car. As scared little kittens are going to do, they scurried into the only safe place they could find…under the dashboard and then squeezed even further into very hot places under the hood near the engine where they all got stuck. They would not have survived. So our dedicated and determined staff to the rescue! After dismantling the dashboard piece by piece, one by one, they were able to grab onto each kitten and maneuver it out safely into a carrier.

They are now in the shelter receiving medical treatment but safe. Thank you, Holly, Rhianna, and Casey!! You guys rock!
