Came home from work today to find an envelope address to me from “Care Center.”

I knew what it was, but inevitably it took me over an hour to actually open the envelope.
I knew the tsunami of emotion that would wash over me.

Nevertheless, I opened it.
These were enclosed along with a hand written note from the veterinarian that performed the euthanasia.

Not only did I find your precious prints, but to my surprise, I also found a print of your nose.
The nose I used to “boop” and rub while you fell asleep on my lap or next to me.

These footprints and this nose, I hope you know, comforted me and helped me in many more ways than one.
You might not physically be next to me any longer, or I might not be able to “boop” your nose anymore, but you’ve left a print in my heart that will last a lifetime, Rocco.
Mama loves you my sweet boy. I hope you’re having zoomies wherever you are.
